Lauch presentation startup, plus template file type
Please can the Proclaim team take another look at the startup screen and consider introducing template file types.
At our church we duplicate a template service file as part of our setup process, however the new 'Open presentation' popup window has created a lot of confusion. Frequently the template is opened instead of duplicated. There is the option to right click on the template in the Open Presentation popup and duplicate it, but the Duplicate button is right next to the Delete button, and there is no delete confirmation window to back out in case it was clicked by accident. Using a template is important in 1) reducing volunteer time and expertise required to run a service and 2) providing consistency from service to service. I'd almost go as far as saying its what makes it viable for us to use Proclaim.
It would be really helpful to have a Launch Presentation popup window instead that:
- Gives all the options, not just open
- Makes it really clear what each option does
- Makes it really clear whether or not a service file has already been created for today or for future dates.
- Allows creation from a template file
Below is a mockup of what I envisage that screen could look like:
With regards to a template file type, I'm just looking for a service file that is quickly accessible for duplication and is difficult to accidentally edit. We achieve the first requirement by having a service file named "TEMPLATE Sunday meeting dd-mm-yy", dated 1st Jan 2025 so it always appears on top, but there is no lock to avoid accidental edit. I know there is a way of backing up a presentation but this is not practical as the template gets updated by our administrator fairly regularly in as the notices get updated.
Thank you for considering this. These details make a real difference to small churches as we don't have the manpower to just select tech-savvy volunteers and we want to simplyify practical serving as much as possible so that our volunteers can focus on God, discipleship etc etc.

Chris, thanks so much for the feedback and even taking the time to share a mockup. This is super helpful. Let me know if you have any time for a quick 30-40 min call to discuss -- https://fl.vu/cosand-calendly
