Skarsaune/Hvalvik (ed): Jewish Believers in Jesus

Logos has already got Oskar Skarsaune's In the Shadow of the Temple. I think it's time they also publish Jewish Believers in Jesus, edited by him and Reidar Hvalvik. Since a quick search revealed that Rick Brannan has written several blog posts about this book -- including one saying that every NT scholar needs to have it -- I can't believe I'm the first to suggest it.

Here's Rick Brannan's official comment (from http://community.logos.com/forums/p/26187/193218.aspx#193218):

Yes, and agree. I've suggested it too, the book is excellent. Everyone should flood suggest@logos.com requesting that one.
Come on now! Give me some thumbs up, guys!

I should clarify: I can only "officially" speak for Rick Brannan. The above comment is not an official declaration on behalf of Logos Bible Software.

Don't know if these have been listed yet:
Risto Santala (from what I have heard he is a very well respected Finnish scholar)
The Messiah in the Old Testament: In light of Rabbinical writings
The Messiah in the New Testament: In light of Rabbinical writings

Never heard of him, but they sound really interesting. A Finnish Gentile who writes in Hebrew and sells 5 editions in Israel! They've got to have some value.
There also seems to be an older one called The suffering Messiah and Isaiah 53 in the light of Rabbinic literature. If that isn't just a 'first draft' to the more complete OT one, that too should be included. And there are two others called Paul the Man and the Teacher in the Light of Jewish Sources; and The Midrash of the Messiah - the Messiah and His Meal in Midrash Ruth Chapters V, VII and VIII.
Hmm... Looked around a bit more and found free copies of 4 of these books, so it should be easy enough to evaluate them:

NT: http://www.kolumbus.fi/risto.santala/rsla/Nt/index.html
Paul: http://www.kolumbus.fi/risto.santala/rsla/Paul/paul01.html

I was just to suggest that book and found this thread. I bought it from Amazon 2 years ago and, after reading some of it and also some of other things from Skarsaune, I ask, please, include this book in the prepub. There are so many references to the biblical places, and other resources we have in Logos there, that reading it in a paper version somehow doesn't work. Please, Logos, we need this book. Thank you very much.

This just turned up on prepub, unfortunately in a rather expensive collection: Baker Academic Early Church Collection (14 vols.).
(There's also at least two Vyrso books in there. One has already been withdrawn, but the other can still be bought if you get there before they do. And one other book can also be bought individually. It's been 'under development' for two years or more. A bit weird to put it in a collection now...)

Unfortunately, I was just about to get my orders under $1000.00 [:'(]

That what I was afraid of came upon me... [:(]
The series is great but I could live without a couple of books in the series. But what about those books I really need - well, want? To wait on Logos/Baker breaking of that series... is so far away.

Thanks for reminding me of checking Vyrso once again. They hide some real gems in there. When I looked at http://vyrso.com/products/search?Genre=History&start=&sort=bestselling&pageSize=15 I couldn't resist buying some that I didn't have already...
I wondered they carry Heine's work "Reading the OT with the Ancient Church Fathers" from the Evangelical Ressourcement series (but apparently only this one - unfortunately I have it in Kindle format)

Mick, what do you know about Drobner: The Fathers of the Church: A Comprehensive Introduction and Köstlin: The Theology of Luther in Its Historical Development and Inner Harmony (3 vols.)?

Unfortunately I didn't come accross any of them so far. Do you read German? Then check out the "Life of Luther" kindle edition on German Amazon! I downoaded it the day before yesterday, but didn't get to even read into it.

And I who hoped you'd have something intelligent to say to help me decide... [:(]
As for German, I can stumble my way through a newspaper article if I'm really interested, but, no, I can't say I read it.

Regarding Drobner, it is awesome. Here are some blog posts I wrote a few years back on my personal blog:
http://www.supakoo.com/rick/ricoblog/2007/10/30/DrobnersTheFathersOfTheChurch.aspx
http://www.supakoo.com/rick/ricoblog/2008/02/23/DrobnersQuotTheFathersOfTheChurchquotIsAwesome.aspx
http://www.supakoo.com/rick/ricoblog/2007/11/06/DrobnersTheFathersOfTheChurchPartI.aspx
Also, I can put up a hearty endorsement for Robinson's book on Ignatius that is in the same collection as Drobner and Skarsaune & Hvalvik. Here are some posts I wrote on that one as I read it:
And an instance where info in Robinson came in handy:
However, I know nothing of Köstlin.

Thanks, Rick. Took me a couple of days to get around to reading all that, but now I have.[:)]
