More Syntax Search Fun

The following is a screenshot from 4.3 SR-1 taken on a 2009 MBP running 10.7.1 (4 megs of RAM, 500 gig hd):
I saw the same problem (the pick list being jumbled into a single column) in the 4.3 betas. I believe there has been a minor update since I last tried a syntax search. Anyone else seeing this?

Looks similar to => Bug: 4.3 beta12 LSGNT syntax that also has Syntax Search display issues using Logos 4.3 SR-1.
Puzzling, wonder what is causing large Syntax Search pop-up ? (possibly 3rd party window location manager or other program interference).
Wonder if diagnostic logs or console messages have any interesting messages ?
WIki Mac Troubleshooting => How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac has link to Logos Log Scribe (includes copy of console messages in archive file).

Here are the logs from this morning....I haven't used logos since then. How would I go about getting a copy of the console messages?
Thanks.

Option: can use Console utility to save a copy OR use Logos Log Scribe (that saves a copy of console messages before compressing Logging folder).
Former Forum MVP Joe Miller created a video tutorial that included saving a copy of console messages => http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6731.aspx

I have the same issue and have never been able to create a syntax search since purchasing last year.

Clint and Trisha ~ Could you attach a text file of your system information? We have another Mac user experiencing the same display problems and it might help to compare the system information from your Macs with his.
To get this info:
- Click on the Apple icon in upper-left corner of screen and choose "About This Mac."
- Click on "More Info..."
- Click on the System Profiler's File menu and choose Save As. Change the File Format from "System Profiler 4.0 (XML)" to "Rich Text Format (RTF)" and save the file to your Documents folder.
- Attach the RTF file to this thread or email it to logos4feedback@logos.com.

It sure does. Tech support and development are on the case - so hopefully, with the submission of system info from Clint and Trisha, they will be able to resolve this issue.
3rd party window location manager: nothing, that I'm aware of using, on my end.

I'm all good, haven't seen the gibberish syntax dialog for a while now. I'll let you know if it reappears.

Thanks Trisha and Clint. I've passed on this information to development.

The search bug is back in 4.3 SR-6. Here is the screen shot. You'd know, its Friday, I need to answer a rather simply syntax question, and I can't do it in Logos.
Frustrating.
Wonder if resizing Syntax Search floating window or docking panel changes new search display ?
Edit: curious about Program Settings for fonts ?
Also wonder about restarting Logos 4 Mac ? (possibly restarting Mac)
Option: contact Logos Mac Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact With your permission, Logos can connect with desktop sharing (Monday thru Friday).

This issue is already in the hands of the Mac developers. Since this is happening for only a handful of users (that we're aware of), it can make it more difficult to discover the cause and a solution, but they're still looking into it.

This new thread here is not reported as a bug, but the user may also be experiencing this same issue. Just wanted to let you know. Good to know this is still being looked into.
Thanks,
Lauren

Here are mine as well. The amount of people this is happening to may only reflect the number of people doing syntax searches, not the number of people with this issue. I appreciate everyone's help!

Jarett ~ Thanks for including your specs. I'll provide them to development.

No changes in behavior to be found by doing the above, also no change effected by upgrading to Lion OS.

And now it magically works.....no update, no major changes to my system. I'm running 4.3 SR-6 which I believed had the problem a few weeks ago.
Wondering about multiple monitors ? with placement of syntax search ? If using multiple monitors, curious about alignment ?
Likewise puzzled by working now; but not earlier.

Good news Clint. It is interesting how your syntax search changes. Mine is still the same unfortunately. Perhaps you could post (or email to devs) your logs for them to compare against the logs you posted when it wasn't working. May be the solution for permanently resolving this issue for you. As for me... just don't know if this part will ever work.

submitted that info a long time ago.

I'll grab the logs this morning and post them. I do use multiple monitors, but always in the same configuration. I've played with my graphic cards and alternated between the two. Some strange variable in play.

Looking at console messages, noticed couple lines for Logos Bible Software 4:
- 11/16/11 10:00:07.951 AM SIMBL Agent warning: failed to get scripting definition from /Applications/Logos Bible Software 4.app; it may not be scriptable.
- 11/16/11 10:00:21.865 AM Logos Bible Software 4 Performance: Please update this scripting addition to supply a value for ThreadSafe for each event handler: "/Library/ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax"
Did notice many sets of couple duplicate keyboard layout identtifiers:
- 11/16/11 10:00:11.720 AM com.apple.SystemUIServer.agent Keyboard Layouts: duplicate keyboard layout identifier -4001.
- 11/16/11 10:00:11.720 AM com.apple.SystemUIServer.agent Keyboard Layouts: keyboard layout identifier -4001 has been replaced with -28675.
- 11/16/11 10:00:11.739 AM com.apple.SystemUIServer.agent Keyboard Layouts: duplicate keyboard layout identifier 5000.
- 11/16/11 10:00:11.739 AM com.apple.SystemUIServer.agent Keyboard Layouts: keyboard layout identifier 5000 has been replaced with 16383.
Wonder about Logos 4 diagnostic logs when syntax search working ?
