How do I get a blank at the beginning of a song? I've tried this and it doesn't seem to work when using the verse/chorus sequence codes...

Thank YOU, Hunter. It's good to know I wasn't missing something obvious!

Any update on this?

I can think of two ways of accomplishing this...
a) Put a separate blank slide in before the song.
b) Let the first verse consist of a non-displaying character - Option+space on a Mac - ALT+255 (numeric keyboard) on windows - is favourite.

The version we will ship tomorrow supports adding a custom labeled verse w/ no content. The following content will produce a blank slide first using the custom order sequence - Blank, Verse 1

is there any way there can be a default blank slide for all songs? for example, I like to have a blank slide at the end of each song for worship, and we use a variety of songs from CCLI, but in order to do this I'll have to manually enter [Blank] into each song we use ever and then enter that into the custom order sequence. is there any way to have just a "Blank" or a -- available for the custom order sequence so we don't have to go through this for each song we import?

That is a great idea! I'd encourage you to post it on our Proclaim UserVoice page: http://proclaim.uservoice.com/
We are looking at ways to implement a template system to make creation of standardized presentations a more natural process and we appreciate your input.

I am really confused about this blank slide thing (and very new to Proclaim). A couple of questions...
1) Does the double dash - - thing still work to get a blank slide? If so, where exactly do I put that?
2) Using the [Blank] option described above puts a no text slide at the front, but has the song title on it.
Any help for someone whose head is spinning?

I'm not sure if this has been changed since last year, but the "--" or [Blank] options are not working for me. I did find a workaround if using the custom order for song lyrics. If you add an extra section to the song, like 'Chorus 3', then leave the space below it blank, then add the 'Chorus 3' in the places you want a blank slide in the custom order box, then it will add in a blank slide.

Devin,
Your workaround is essentially the same as the [Blank] method, but instead of using Chorus 3, you are allowed to create custom song sections by enclosing the section title in square brackets. In this case it is called Blank. So by making a blank section by adding the line [Blank] to the top of your lyrics and then putting the word 'Blank' in the spot you want it in the custom order box, you will achieve the same results. This way you don't have to worry if a song happens to have 3 choruses!

We recently wrote up a Proclaim blog post about this process. Check it out here: http://blog.proclaimonline.com/2013/03/04/proclaim-favorite-feature-custom-slide-creation/
We are also adding quite a bit more ways to use Proclaim, so be sure to watch the blog, and subscribe to our RSS feed to keep up to date.
