Should say something about changes to Import of Word/Vocab Lists from L3.
Is the indexing bug also fixed?

Reboot laptop & problem resolved. Weird!
I cannot get past this ...
Click 'Yes' and both dialogs disappear and L4 does not start. Click 'No' and the update does not install but L4 starts. Rebooting like Bill S doesn't fix anything for me.

I did do one more thing before rebooting... after looking at the error, I went to the System directory containing the file it said it didn't have permission to replace. Noticing that it was set to read-only, I removed that (logged in as an admin). Then I rebooted.... problem solved....
Hope your problem is as easily solved....

Thanx, Bill. I don't get the same (or sim) Error Dialog. Nor do I spot any 'uh-ohs' in the logs.

Wow, this surely was the most-asked-for-feature since Perseus was shipped!
Seems I should switch to beta channel again...

Great news, but I don't get how it works: I went to my library, searched for a collection of resources I want to hide, use CTL A to select them all and then dragged to the hide resources field. But it did not work. Am I supposed to hold down a button while I drag?

I don't think you drag them anywhere. I think you select the resources you want to hide the and then hit CTL+right-click

You're right. You have to select the resources first. Then holding CTL keeps the selection and clicking on the right button brings up the context menu out of which one selects "hide resource". It worked like a charm.
Great to have this ability finally! Thanks Logos and thanks also for the split view in the notes. It looks great.

I cannot select multiple resources by doing the above steps for Windows. It does provide an option to hide resources, but only the source that I just click on.

Tom,
I just tried this some minutes ago. You typically select multiple resources in Windows by keeping the CTRL-key down while clicking them anywhere (except their name to not invoke opening) or selecting one, keeping shift pressed and selecting another, which will also select all resources in-between. This worked before Beta 2 to e.g. add tags. I used it to e.g. tag the novels from the vyrso-freebies as "fiction".
When you thus already have selected them - the number of selected resources appears in the right-hand pane - the ctrl-right click comes into play which opens a context menu that contains "hide resource" and works on the selected resources.
Hope this helps
Edit: a picture showing four resources selected (the upper three with selecting one, then shift click selecting another, automatically including the one in the middle, plus the one below with additional ctrl-click), noting Logos counts 4, then ctrl-right click on one of them to invoke context menu. See last item there.

It works for all the resources you have selected, despite the misleading "Hide this resource" label.

Thanks for this info. When I click on something, I click on the title. When I first attempted this, I was clicking on the book title because I was selecting the book (not the author, the date, etc...
When I clicked on the author to select the book with the control key pressed, I was able to select multiple books (by clicking on multiple authors).
Am I the only one who is missing the logic here?

Tom,
Clicking on the title in Library will open the resource. I have the 'Type' column showing and that is where I click to highlight a selection without opening it.

But when I am holding the shift or control key, I am saying do not open the resource (just like any other program that allows me to do multiple selections). For me, this is another example on how the UI is not intuitive.

Perhaps it isn't just like the Windows file menu and it should be (whether that is intuitive is another matter). Of course if it did work like the Windows file menu, then we'd need to double click to open a resource no matter what we clicked on.

It's a bit unusual and I had to learn this from experience/a wiki entry/another forum poster. Nevertheless it happens quite often that I intend to select a resource and open it instead, 'cause I just clicked anyplace in the row and hit the title. I think the logic is by and large okay (one click select, double click open would maybe be more convenient, but I don't know if there was a legacy regarding L3 compaibility when this was designed), the problem is that it is not made obvious to the user: the title field works like we are expecting to work a link, but is not indicated any different than the rest of the line, such as blue color or so.

If you ask me, it is very unusual. I have said it before, and I will say it again, L4 would be a lot easier to use if Logos would just conform to standards. Everywhere else, if you hold down the control key and click on the item, you simply select that item. Nowhere else (that I know of) is the click and the cntl-click do the same action.

The Split note view is nice, but when hovering over a link, the pop-up text is too small to read comfortably.
It appears that the pop-up text size is determined by the size of the link text. Could it be a setting in the general settings so that all pop-ups have the same user determined size for text?

Sorry I don't understand what you mean by this - can you expand, ideally showing a screenshot?
Thanks, Graham

Graham, I think he might be referring to the popup from a link in his notes. The size of the text in the popup is determined from the size of the text in the resource when it is copied. Note the size of the text in my notes for the link God in the dictionary to the right. I changed the size of the font in both the notes and the dictionary after copying the link.

The first is a pop-up in a note... notice the small text size of the NIV84 pop-up...
This is the same screen, but a pop-up from another resource, also viewing a verse in NIV84. Notice the font is larger in this pop-up...
IMHO It would be nice to have a user setting so that all pop-ups are a standard, readable size for the user.
