Does anyone know what happens when a Vyrso ebook becomes available as a Logos4 resource?
For example,
http://vyrso.com/products/search?q=frank+viola
http://www.logos.com/product/25190/frank-viola-collection
I remember seeing this before. Essentially it is "the same resource" programatically.
Moving from a Vyrso book to a logos book generally means that more tagging is being added. Users who own the Vyrso book will receive the upgraded (new?) Logos book as a free upgrade, just as Logos is always upgrading books we already own.
It's another perk. [y]
That's what I figure too. However, since the Vyrso version can be bought immediately or bought as individual titles (i.e. purchasers don't have to put themselves on the pre-pub queue), a pre-pub collection could end up lingering as a pre-pub for a very long time.
One poster previously mentioned that a Vyrso resource had later appeared as a Logos resource. Shortly after that post the book disappeared from the Vyrso shop so don't be surprised if that happens again with Viola. Get it while you can? Perhaps Logos has so many books available now that no one can keep track of them all!

Thomas -
Logos has suggested that this might be the case, but I am unaware of any official word on the matter. Have you heard otherwise? Personally, I have advocated this many times. I think that it would be great to allow people to order a pre-pub Logos book, get the Vyrso edition while the Logos version is being created.

The new Logos editions will replace the Vyrso editions in your library when this ships. You will not have a duplicate book.
Vyrso and Logos books are the same file format, and same technology. What's different is how they are created, the tagging and markup process, etc.
If/when we do a Logos edition of a Vyrso book, it would be delivered as an update of the book file -- the update would be automatic and free, just as updates to books are now when we fix typos, improve tagging, etc.
Conceivably we might license a "3rd edition" of a book and do it as a Logos edition, when the "2nd edition" had been a Vyrso title, and the publisher/Logos might choose to have this significantly different resource sold separately. (Like the NIV84/NIV2011, or the BAGD/BDAG lexicon.) But I think that's a rare scenario that reflects "essentially a new book."
If it's an update / change from eBook -> Logos Edition, there shouldn't be a charge, and the update should be invisible and automatic. And the resulting updated resource will continue to work in both Vyrso and Logos 4.
