Hi Alan,
Are you referring to a Video service item, or a Content or other item with a video background? In the case of a Content item with a video background, we are aware of this issue and are trying to determine the best way to handle audio in Content videos in addition to audio tracks that may be added in the audio column.
In the case of a Video service item, if you click on the green "play" icon next to a Video service item in the Order of Service, you will see there are two options available: "Use Video Soundtrack" and "Use Background Audio". It should be set to "Use Video Soundtrack" by default, but if you have it set to "Use Background Audio" you may not hear any sound for that video.
Yes I'm talking about a video service item...
And yes we checked the bubble box...tried it both ways... no audio
Tried reloading the video...still no audio;
tried loading other videos...no audio
We checked it on other computers(all Macs)...no audio
FYI: this started when we updated to 1.8 and we are always use the video option "local file" since using the cloud option has given us streaming issues in the past
New finding...Just tried the only thing we had NOT tried, "uploading and syncing" the video...this time the audio worked
So it seems the problem is ONLY with "local to this computer only" which is what we use since our internet is slow and unreliable...
Hopefully this helps you narrow down the fix on your end...
Thanks for the extra info, Alan. What is the file format for the video you are using?
All those we tried to make work this weekend were .mpg
Usually the videos we purchase to use for church services are mpg...occassional they are .mov
Alan, I have followed up with you via email.
