This looks great, but is there going to be dynamic pricing? For those of us who have many of these sets through CP, it would be a bummer if not...

I was about to go ahead and take advantage of this since my dynamic price is only about $350.
However, as I thought about it a bit, I did start to wonder whether there might be a potentially hidden downside to dynamic pricing.
My question about it is posted here:
http://community.logos.com/forums/t/72822.aspx
i really don't know how would a normal person have the time to read all these with their current library.
If you can let me know which of the 1,500 will turn up and be helpful in my search results over the next ten years, then I'll make sure I only buy those volumes and skip the others [:P].

Mark I think we have something in common. https://www.logos.com/products/search?q=bibliomania I have only scanned through it, but it is an interesting read.
Let me know what searches you'll be making over the next ten years and I'll put a list of them together for you [:D]
Ok bought into it, got 413 resources- the cost? $1.63 each- ok it turned out to be a good deal.
I bad make that 463 resources at $1.43 ea.
Wow I purchased mine yesterday morning, almost 30 hours ago, and still no unlock. The order is on my orders page. I have gotten three emails from Customer Service referring to the backlog.
Mine has just started downloading 876MB. (It now says 957MB 1.08GB but it includes Gary Everett's Study Notes on the Holy Scriptures.) I ordered yesterday morning and it has been on my order page since yesterday. I heard of the backlog by phone but received no emails. I wonder how long it will take to index.
Edit #2: Indexing started 8:40 am Bellingham time.
Indexing FAILED. See http://community.logos.com/forums/t/72841.aspx
Mine has just started downloading
Mine too! YAY!
What is the non dynamic price for this?
$2499.95 But a few weeks from now it will go up to $3499.95! [:|]
So my price of $1800 is not that good.. yikes.. dang... just too much.. I can almost upgrade to Portfolio for that.
So my price of $1800 is not that good.
I bet you re getting 800+ books for that. Everyone's average seems to be just over $2 per volume. It will never be lower. They do have payment plans.
I can almost upgrade to Portfolio for that.
Yes, but the price of Portfolio is not going to increase $1000 in the next few weeks. You can get it later.
Could anyone vouch for the value or otherwise of these, particularly the ones I bolded? How often do you actually use them?Barnes' Notes on the Old and New Testaments (26 vols.)Church Pulpit Commentary (12 vols.)The Great Commentary of Cornelius à Lapide (8 vols.)The Numerical Bible (7 vols.)Biblical Commentary on the New Testament (6 vols.)A Commentary on the New Testament from the Talmud and Hebraica (4 vols.)The Analyzed Bible, Vols. 1-10Haydock’s Catholic Bible Commentary
I agree this is is a good deal. I had all of the Classic Commentaries from CP and also most of the extras. This made it hard to decide. I found 1 item that was in my wish its for $99.95. That plus the $30 I would save on the Minor Prophets was over my cost of $110.26.
So I ordered the bundle. I got an additional 59 books and if I add the 40 that I will get later on the Minor Prophets, it was 99 additional books. That works out to $1.11 for each additional book.
If you want to build your library, this is a good way. I own the John Owen collection, but I also got 2 additional books by him.
Edited: On recalculation, I should have reduced my price by the order that I canceled for $30, so that my actual extra cost was only $80.26 or $0.81 per book!
Quite a lot of this collection never went through CP so this collection is actually quite a saving over the original pre-pub prices.
This collection does include quite a few commentaries from single author collections, the problem being that the non commentary elements of the collections are not included and the collections do not have dynamic pricing (i.e. Godet, Campbell-Morgan and Ryle)
Maybe we can get that dynamic pricing on those works in the near future. It would certainly spark some more sales.
Extremely pleased with the bundle because I had missed out on almost ALL of the CP collections. So to be able to pick up the ones that I missed plus a few extra resources for about $1.52 per book was pretty exciting! Have already started digging into the Judges collection...What a feast! Thank you Logos!!
A mouth-watering deal. I'd probably bite if I had some extra cash lying around. [:(]
As it is, deeply interested in only 10% of the works in this huge bundle. [:|]

Barnes Notes is an interesting read. I remember when it was in CP. It took at least a couple of years to go into production. I would not pay the current full price, but at CP price or in this bundle, it's nice to have around as is Lapide's and the Church Pulpit Commentaries.
The Commentary on the NT from the Talmud and Hebraica is something that I am digging into more and more because of my current studies. I don't have an opinion on this yet, but am glad I have it because of a recent shift in the focus of my studies.
Bottom-line, in general none of the works in this bundle which I had previous picked up on CP would be something I would pay full price on. I did a quick analysis of the full price of what I don't have in the bundle and it came to over $6,500! I could spend that amount on plenty of other great and current works. Yet at $1.50ish a volume, used properly some of this is very useful to have as general reference works for study particularly because I do not have access to a theological library.
It's kind of like having a bundle of journals. There are always a number of articles that you really want to read, but the others which you don't read are there for some future time when you are researching a topic. For some, this contingency is very helpful at this price point. For some this won't be very useful at any price point. It's all down to what people need and use.
I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment; it feels like a little bit of redemption. :-)
I just tallied my final numbers, and they're not quite as good as other's I've seen in this thread @ $1.74/book, but in no way am I complaining because the bundle cost was about the same as the packages in my wish list. So it felt like getting all the other stuff for free.
I just finished tagging the rest of the books that I didn't own in this bundle so that they will be more useful. Since a number were unfamiliar it took me a while to go through each of them to determine what type of commentary they were but I believe it was worth it.
I'm already doing Ramen 3-4 times a week, and I have PrePubs to purchase, but I can't see not doing this. [:S]
Ramen is good...Ramen is good...Ramen is good...

man, I really want this, but it would be irresponsible for me to purchase it right now. With the price going up considerably, it might remain so.
Oh well. It is what it is I suppose.
Some things are just unnecessary, and THIS...
$2499.95 But a few weeks from now it will go up to $3499.95!
...is one of those things. [8-)]

Does Logos offer just the Classic Commentaries sets on the individual books as a set without the added collections? I looked and didn't see this option.

I agree and I plead with Logos to fix the price at it's current level to give everyone an opportunity to eventually afford this Bundle.
I took the plunge on this.
I received 56 volumes today, and another 40 will come when the Classic Commentaries on the Minor Prophets is released.
The cost to book ratio was very good, just a little over a dollar a book.
I received 56 volumes today
Did you receive the
Yes, I received all volumes of the Expositor's Greek Testament
I'm trying to wrap my head around this package, and the set called "Morals on the Book of Job" caught my attention. I cannot find any separate product page for it. For instance, if I search on logos.com| title:"morals on the book of job", it comes up with nothing. If I search for| author:"gregory the great", then I get ECF and this Bundle among a couple of other things. It does not appear to be part of the Classic Commentaries on Job.
The other peculiar thing about it is that the copy says there were originally four volumes, but the three volumes in the Logos set cover chapters 1-38. However, when I open the third resource up, it seems as though it gets to chapter 42. Could it be four volumes made three? The third volume seems particularly large (918 pages when the first two are 621 and 597 pages). Just looking for some fuller info that I can find the website.
No matter explanation, this looks like a great little resource series. I'm excited to start using it, and it feels like an extra little precious gem I didn't know I was getting.
Morals on the book of Job is part of this series. Is this what you were looking for?
Yes, that's helpful, thanks. What differentiates these three volumes from that series as being a part of the Classic Commentary Bundle, but not the rest?

Perhaps there were originally four volumes and if so I would assume that the final one was the indices, as they are several hundred pages in length.
Volume 3 is divided into two parts: Part 5 deals with Job chapters 32-37; and Part 6 with chapters 38-41; then the index of texts, and finally the general index.
For anyone who is trying to find out which titles they're missing from the Complete Classic Commentaries Bundle, I uploaded a program with instructions on this thread:
http://community.logos.com/forums/p/73693/514291.aspx#514291
I've not regretted investing in this series.
