Hello,
My name is Chris and some friends and i are planting a new church. I am brand new to the proclaim software. Is it possible to use the iPad remote app via bluetooth on my macbook pro? Thank you for any input beforehand.

Hi Kingcm
I think it should work ok - make sure that you have Bluetooth power enabled in System Preferences.
Hi kingcm - and welcome to the forums
Is it possible to use the iPad remote app via bluetooth on my macbook pro?
I note Mike's reply - and he is more knowledgeable and current on Proclaim than I am but I didn't think this worked.
Bob (Logos CEO) posted back in September (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/54156/394300.aspx#394300) that the connection between the remote app and the running instance of Proclaim software needed to be routed over the Internet not via a local connection.
While, in that post, he talks about planned changes I wasn't aware that they had been implemented as yet.
Hopefully we can get some clarification on this for you.

Note to self - engage brain before typing...
Graham is right - I was thinking of the Keynote Remote.
Sorry.
I wish it did. I'm going to have to abandon Proclaim for Keynote. It loses connection every single week, making me have to reboot or go to paper notes. (I use the iPad with notes as my remote.)
But after weekly break downs, I just don't think I can keep doing this to my congregation. Too bad, I like it a lot, but the iPad cannot keep a connection to the wifi, even though everything else stays connected to the wifi. It drops the signal and I lose my connection. Keynote working with bluetooth seems pretty flawless.

Sorry to hear this Bob. Have you tried the local WiFi control option for the Proclaim Remote? We've gotten a lot of positive feedback from users that experience network issues using the Internet based control. Please let us know if we can help further.
Yes, I tried it this morning and I had high hopes as it started off well and then in the middle of the worship it died and I had to go to the computer to continue moving the slides along. During our greeting time I had a moment to reset everything once more and I lost connection during my sermon, having to make me stop, go to paper notes, find my place and get someone to move the slides on the computer by hand. Very clunky and after church a few people asked me to just stop using it and go to something else because it was just too disruptive to the flow of the service and my speaking and I agree. I really think the answer is allowing it to use bluetooth between the iPad and the Mac because I can do that with Keynote and it is flawless. Trouble with Keynote is that it won't support a music file if you have more than one slide needing to use it. Proclaim does all that I want it to do except stay connected, rendering it useless for me. Sad, because the new Sermon Editor is so cool. [:(]

How did the Proclaim Remote behave when this happened? Did it show you an error message? Did the app crash? The troubles you're describing don't sound typical so I'm wondering if something else it happening... any additional information you have would help. Thanks for your time.
I'm trying to remember the exact wordage. Basically, While I'm trying to go from one slide to the next on the iPad, a white box comes up saying something like "Unable to continue to next slide" or "lost signal", something like that and then there's a spinning graphic. The only way to get out of it is to quit the Proclaim remote on the iPad and restart it, but that seldom works and I have to reboot the whole iPad to regain connection. Obviously, I don't have time to do that. This usually happens when we are singing, going from one verse slide to the next or when I'm preaching, going from one of my points on a slide to the next one. The congregationI doesn't see anything on their side except the slides stay stationary. I'll see if I can find a photo of the message that comes up. I think I took a picture of it once.
OK, I found a photo of what I get every Sunday. Usually, this happens at least 3 times in the service and I can't continue on. Pressing OK does nothing that helps. It just pops up again.
Chiming in here. But it does not appear that the iPAD it is connected to WIFI at the time the picture was taken. I believe there should be an indicator showing WIFI strength as indicated in the clipping below. This was taken from an iPAD for dummies book I found online. We use the local WIFI remote at out location, and have seen the "unable to change slide" message many times. The Proclaim team has helped up troubleshoot it several times, but it seems to always be related to WIFI problems on site. I had to move the WIFI router so everything could "see" it better.
Yes, I know this is a problem, but I'm standing about 15 feet from the router when I preach and I have all the bars. But the iPad loses the signal even though my phone and computer have a full signal. I don't know that Proclaim can do anything about that, but that's why I'm asking for Bluetooth connectivity. I know some people need wifi to change things on the fly, but on the other hand, I imagine there are a lot of pastors like me who have a small church and don't have anyone to run the computer. I'd like bluetooth connectivity to allow me to simply show what's on the computer like Keynote does. No changes on the fly, just showing what I prepared in advance for the service.
I'm not sure what iPAD you are working with or what version of the iOS you are using, but there are a number of self help articles online which address i device WIFI connectivity issues. You may find the solution to be an easy one. Just Google "ipad wifi connectivity issues". I have had to use all of the suggested fixes at one time or other.
We meet in a rented space and remote control Proclaim from two IPAD 2's (sometimes three), run the sound board from another, run OnSong on seven others for the praise band, and AirPlay to the projector using an Apple TV. Yes - we have allot of iPAD's; picked them up second hand. The iPAD's all remain connected to the WIFI without any issues; the Apple TV drops the connection from time-to-time. It did take a while to get the router positioning dialed in just right. Extending the range with a second WIFI router would probably solve the Apple TV issue, but I haven't done it yet. I switched to an Apple Airport Express WIFI router for stability reasons, and so I could AirPlay music before and after services.
