RC2: Disappointing

There are still some fundamental problems:-
- My highlighting Label definition has not sync'd from v6.0 where it was created
- No results from <Event xxx> searches in or from the main RI's
- Factbook <Culture> item >> Search Everything for <Culture> ---> no results (incl. Factbook section)!
- Factbook item >> Community Tags or Search >>Community Tags ---> resources not opening
I'm sure others could add to the list.

EDIT: Sorry this is the bug Dave listed above, at least here is a thread reference to it:
Seems to me a very big bug is that most/all event searches don't work in this scenario

I agree with Dave. I don't think this is ready for release.
Apart from what he mentioned, there is still this serious, repeatable lockup issue when Biblical Things is open in a customized passage guide: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/95234.aspx

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I think in the beta trials someone explained that this is by design, and that <Culture XXXX> should only return results when within a {Section} search extension.

Why delay? It's only a point release.
So long as a 6.0b comes along fairly soon, I'm not sure why this should be delayed, particularly if it solves the Yosemite download bug.
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

A Search for <Culture> should at least provide a link to the Factbook item!
Why does the Factbook item provide a Search Everything link for <Culture> as well as a link for (Section <Culture>}?

That is the only point of merit, but the other bugs were known before this became prominent.

I guess it just depends on how long the open issues would take to resolve, which is something we don't know but Faithlife does, or at least can estimate. If it were just a few days to fix some of these especially the <Event> and lockup, I would be in favor of waiting (as I would imagine that 6.0b RTM will be at least a month or month and a half out). If it's a week or longer that's obviously good reason to just ship now.
Although, I guess there are always the Service Releases where they can fix these things too.

Where do you see this? I only see a link at the bottom of the Cultural Concepts section for searching {Section <Culture Topic>}.

Like <Biography>, this is a known issue.

AFAIK, none of the problems in 6.0a are regressions from 6.0, so 6.0a is a net improvement. We have made the decision to ship with known issues. These bugs are on our list to fix in future releases.

It has to be a specific <Culture> item e.g. enter <Culture Ability> as opposed to Ability (which gives you the topic item). Under See Also the Search link will be for <Culture Ability>

This makes sense, I had lost sight of the strategy here to keep squashing bugs in quick releases once 6.0 was out. This was a good and correct decision to keep progress going. Nice job Bradley on keeping things on track and making 6.0 better with 6.0a. On to 6.0b! [:D]
