Android Suite 4.5.0 Beta 3 Release

The Android team is pleased to announce the 4.5.0 beta 3 release of the Bible, Biblia, FSB, Noet, Verbum and Vyrso apps.
If you have not yet signed up for the beta (or if you have not yet switched to downloading the betas via the Google Play store), we encourage you to do so! Instructions are here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/59519.aspx
If you are already signed up for the beta via Google Play, you will automatically receive the beta update over the next few hours. If your device does not provide access to the Google Play store (e.g. the Kindle Fire), you may manually download the latest APK using the direct download links at the bottom of this page: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/59519.aspx
If you discover any issues please create a new post and include the following info:
- Description – How were you using the app when the problem occurred.
- App Info – Which app you are using. (Bible, Biblia, Faithlife Study Bible, Noet, Verbum or Vyrso)
- Device Info – (Nexus 7, Motorola Triumph, Droid Bionic, Kindle Fire (1st gen))
- Android Version – (4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 5.0)
Included are the necessary beta download and Google Play beta tester opt-in links. The Google Play beta opt-in links are only accessible if you have previously been accepted to the Logos Android Beta Users Google+ community.
Important Notes
- This beta requires Android 4.1 or higher.
- This beta includes Faithlife account integration with the Android system providing single sign in across Reader Suite apps. Single sign in support for our other Android apps (Faithlife Mobile, Every Day Bible) is planned for the future, but not available yet.
- There are several new permissions added in this release, all related to single sign in. Note that adding new permissions prevents automatic updates from Google Play; you must explicitly accept the new permission changes to receive this update.

I beg you! Please make the most recent note bug a priority for the net beta. I highlight a lot and it's so terribly annoying have to either edit every highlight or change the setting every time I change books.

Please clarify: I have two accounts which I use differently. Presently I access one with the Verbum and Noet apps, the other account I access with the Bible app. Will single sign in affect this use case?

No - you can have as many accounts as you want and single sign in doesn't affect that. The purpose of single sign in is to make things easier, not limit you to a single account.

I am glad to see that after about a year of evasions, the library update bug has finally at least been acknowledged. I don't download betas so I hope you get out a stable release fixing that bug as soon as possible. My library has not updated since about Feb. 23--close to two weeks. None of the 6 books from the 5 orders I've made since then have shown up yet.

Kevin, thanks for the timely reply.[*]
Using Google I found that you answered a similar question which I missed when using search from this page.

To update your library, close the app and restart it.

This past week Logos, Faithlife Study Bible and Vyrso have been crashing often. 4.5.0 (Build 413), Nexus 7 (original version), Android 5.0.2
Some of the crashes appear to be related to the screen resizing bug mentioned elsewhere. Other times it crashes after waking from sleep into the app. Other times it crashes when going to the home screen, or when trying to navigate to a verse, or when changing a book by clicking on the book title at the top to bring up the library. Just many, many crashes. I even uninstalled all apps. Rebooted, and reinstalled. Crashes seem to be less frequent, but I have not had this happen since getting the apps.
I click on Android's Report button when I get the App not responding notification. Do you get those reports which should have all the system info? Is that helpful?

Kevin.
Here is a workaround that I use:
When you want a highlight to appear in a new/different notes document, *select* the text rather than using the quick highlight feature. Choose "highlight" from the context menu. Select your notes document on the bottom of the dialog, and apply. For the next highlight, the quick feature should work correctly (although I would double check from time to time.)

My 4.5 beta 3 also crashed constantly, especially in split screen mode.
I went ahead and switched back to the stable build.
