Date Field on Announcement Item improvement

I would like two mutually exclusive options on the date field: 1. Use current date and 2. Use presentation "Date Given" field.

It would also be nice if this option would carry over and update automatically when I re-use an item that has either option selected.

Also I would like to have more flexibility in formatting the date. For example, there doesn't seem to be any way to not show the day of the week.

Thanks for your feedback, as always, Brendon. We've heard the request for a "use presentation date given" field before, and it seems very sensible to incorporate the date you're already setting to save you time. I've logged your other requests with these for future improvements on the date field.

Out of curiosity, do you mostly use this field for one type of service item (e.g. announcement) or many?

I can't say that it's on our shortlist at the moment, but we're aware of the desire for improvement here.
