I have a video created by Windows Movie Maker complete with background music that I want to play in the post service loop, but when it finishes playing the first time it just stops. I tried it first with just the video and it didn't work. Then I bracketed it with blank screens with a 1 second auto advance, but when the video ended, it just stops. If I manually advance to the next slide, it does go through one more iteration before stopping after the video. One other thing, is that the video is "On this computer only". I did not try uploading it.

Is this by design, or is there something I can do?

The main reason for doing this is a slide show where the slides match the length of the background music.

Hi Brendon,

Does this (not)happen with all videos or just this one?

I just tried a short video in my set up and it worked fine.

Those controls are not available in the post service.

Latest info: I finally got it to work by putting a blank content service item on either side of the video. I had to restart it after it stopped the first and second times, but from then on it worked. I then went into edit mode and deleted the content slides and it stopped after the next play. I also tried the same thing in the pre-service loop. It appears as though if the video service item is the only item, it does not loop. Adding at least one additional item allows it to loop.

Well Brendon that got me confused so I investigated my experience a little more.  Huh?

First I managed to replicate all the problems you have and I note your subsequent solution.

I, also, might have solved the problem with a workaround.

I put the video in the main service section and set the controls to 'loop continuously' I then dragged item into the Post Service Loop where it performed flawlessly.

I would be interested to know if this solution worked for you - if so we can bring it to Proclaim developers as a general case.

Thanks Mike, I tried your solution and worked. I also was thinking during breakfast this morning (before reading your post), there's no reason why the video (since it's a single item), needs to be in the post service loop at all. I could just leave it as the last item in the main service and have all the video controls available there, and the same applies for the pre-service loop.
Thanks again.

Really disappointed that you have applied logic to this problem Brendon. I much preferred the convoluted solutions  Wink

Perhaps the developers could chip in and acknowledge the problem - it shouldn't really be like that.

Thanks for the report Brendon, I was able to reproduce this.  We'll look into it this week for you.

Just in case you are having problems with the slides not looping.  I found I have to add anything to the warmup section.  Even blank.  Now the pre loop works again.
