I would like to create a passage list of all of the words of Jesus.  I found an old logos training page where it was possible in 2013, please help me know how to do it now.

    Go to the Bible Browser in Tools and filter on Speaker: Jesus (Type Jesus in the sidebar find box and scroll down to the Reported Speech section and click Jesus under the Speaker subsection). Then use the Send To button (the up arrow) and select Passage List document.

    all of the words of Jesus

    This will vary from translation to translation. for Example: Some Translations think John 3:16 was spoken by Jesus, other translations believe John 3:16 is John's summary statement of Jesus' interaction with Nicodemus.

    There is no doubt that the words belong in the holy Scripture or that John penned them, there is just question about when the dialogue ends and the commentary begins.

    Yes, but Bible Browser reflects the Speaker tagging performed by Faithlife, and adopts the former position.

    One can also limit a Bible search to Words of Christ" to come up with results for a specificEnglish Bible.

    Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    I thought about that too, but I wasn't sure what she was going to use the passage list for so I just went with the quickest/easiest way to create a passage list document.

    Side note: When I tried searching for a Greek word in the "Words of Christ" text I got zero hits. It would seem that you can only search that text in English. On the other hand, you can search a passage list in the original language within an English bible. So that's the advantage of searching a passage list.

    I have discovered that I do not have access to the Bible Browser function.  I went to the Logos store to see if I could add it, but it indicated that I already owned it, but it was not available.  I was a Word Search user until 2020 when we were moved over to Logos.  I am still struggling to use this program. Is there any other way?

    If you own it, it should be in your Tools menu. Go to the tools menu and type Bible Browser in the search box.

    Another way would be to do a Bible search in the Search window for {Speaker <Person Jesus>} and then save the results as a passage list:

    I just thought the Bible Browser would be easier but they both work.

    It would be worthwhile to explain the un-highlighted words like "are" in the Search results, because they are words that do NOT come from the text of the SBLGNT, which is a 'generously licensed' Greek bible for use with Logos. FL apply their own morphology to it and tag it in ways that can be applied to any translation provided it has a Reverse Interlinear that maps/aligns its text to the Greek. A similar morphology/tagging/mapping happens with the OT text based on the Lexham Hebrew Bible (LHB). This works quite well for modern translations with a reverse interlinear but KJV/AV versions may have more words un-highlighted because their Greek text comes from an older tradition (TR) that does not match the text used in SBLGNT.

    You can search for "words of Christ" in translations with a Reverse Interlinear e.g. blessed WITHIN {Speaker <Person Jesus>}

    You can also search in translations that display "words of Christ" as red letters e.g. words-of-christ:blessed or WOC:blessed. You see this as a Search Field in the  resource's Information page, but you can also see it in Bible Search when you click on "All Bible Text". The Search is a little different:

    A Passage List doesn't contain the "words" of Christ, just the passages that contain the words. You can search a Passage List but you are likely to find words that are not tagged as "words of christ".

    Bible Browser reflects the Speaker tagging performed by Faithlife

    This is acceptable as long as the user acknowledges that there is disagreement among scholars and Faithlife's tagging is not infallible.
