BUG: Infinitely repeatable but difficult to document

There is a bug that I keep running into under different circumstances for which the common denominator appears to be many changes of tab with searches, copies, or add tags in between. Unfortunately, it takes 1-2 hours of continuous work for the error to appear. The application gradually slows in its responses to the point that a switch between tabs can take more than 30 second with the tab completely disappearing from the screen for up to 6-7 seconds. Restarting the Verbum clears the problem.

Current setup causing this error:

  1. Only one pane with the library, the collections tool, and the Index of Bible Studies PB open.
  2. Word is also open to the source document of the Index of Bible Studies.
  3. Loop of work
  • close any resource that you opened in this loop
  • search library for title; if title not found, search Index of Bible Studies for title
  • Open title
  • If it opens to the bookstore, type NIML in Word and go to start of loop
  • If a resource opens, use panel menu to open information panel
    • add tag to resource Note this tag has the effect of removing the resource from the collection
    • copy the citation and paste into Word
    • go to start of loop
  • Continue until the response time becomes unbearable; restart Verbum and things are fine for a while.
  • I can, of course, provide logs but nothing seems amiss in them. How is the best way to document this problem when it takes so long for the problem to occur? Or should I call tech support and let them see the issue on my machine when I've worked long enough for the tab to disappear?
