Logos 4.2a Beta 3 (v4.21.4.8512) is available for testing.
To upgrade to Beta 3 now, use the "Update Now" command if you’ve switched to the beta channel before, or the "Set Update Channel to Beta" command if you're on a stable version (such as 4.1 SR-4 or 4.2). To install Beta 3 from scratch, see the notes and download link at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/8883.aspx.
For Release Notes, see http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4.2a_Beta_3.
Hi Melissa,
The wiki covers both Win and Mac. Has the Mac beta 3 been released? I only got a L4 help file.
Thanks
Hi Melissa (yes, I am still around!)
Windows keeps telling me the Indexer has stopped working after about 5 minutes of operation. I've tried restarting Logos and restarting Windows, to no avail. I had the same problem with beta 2.
Is there anything I should be trying?
Nigel
I am running Logos 4 Mac and since there isn't a thread yet I thought I would add to this one. My indexing just seems to be stalling. It goes from 3 hours to 5 hours and back and forth. It's never taken this long for a relatively small beta. I am going on 3 hours or so.
Jeremy,
There was also an update for SBL Greek Texts. Could this be the cause of the indexing rather than the beta drop?
Yes some resource or resources was updated. I don't know exactly what resource it was since my "Last Updated" option in my library doesn't seem to work. I was going to delete the KLV1900 and NASB95, but other posters said the problem was fixed by tech support.

What do you mean by it "doesn't seem to work"?
The column isn't updated or the column isn't there?
The column is there, but all it seems to do is change the alphabetic order of my resources. I thought Logos said that I would only see that column functioning after I downloaded this beta or updated resources, but I still don't see it functioning properly.
It's clumsy, but you have to click the column header to sort latest on top then move the scroll bar to the top!
I think I am doing that, but still no results.
I am pretty sure it had to do with the latest SBLGNT. I technically don't have Beta 2 because I was in the process of downloading/indexing it.
I'm still not seeing the update for the Mac, nor have release notes been posted in the Mac forum even though the official Release Notes page lists Mac changes. Will the Mac update be pushed out soon?
Currently suspect Mac build # is a placeholder in Wiki notes (like 4.2a Beta 2 release) - might be better to use 4.21.4.#### for Mac version in Wiki release notes until Mac Beta RSS feed updated with actual release number.
Thankful for ongoing Logos development - anticipate more Mac fixes/enhancements currently in progress - hence delay for 4.2a Beta 3 on Mac.
Keep Smiling [:)]
I don't think the SBLGNT is out yet for most people quite yet, if you check here. As others reported there was an updated Help file; I don't think that reindexes, does it? I also did get the Gottingen LXX updates, maybe it was the cause of indexing. But the Updated column should definitely be the way to tell.

Hi John ~ The Mac beta may not be released at the same time as the Windows beta; generally it will be the same day or early the next day. Since the release notes are combined now, they may at times go ahead of the Mac beta release. I expect you will see the Mac Beta 3 some time this morning
Is the beta going to fix the stuck indexer that started with a resource update last night? I have to keep on pausing the indexing because I don't know how to just make it stop for good.
You can also see a list of resources that have been updated recently on your home page if you have the 4.2a Beta installed. Sometimes a refresh (F5) is necessary before it is displayed.
Indexing will occur after resources have been installed. Whether or not a full indexing occurs may differ by user, depending on the size of their supplemental index. Sometimes an update will require a reindexing as well. My main system went through a complete reindexing after the last beta, but it doesn't seem that everyone experienced that.
The problem for which Tech Support has been helping many customers is the Indexer crashing with the error "No translation word for specified document position." If your system is getting this IndexingException, deleting the KJV1900.logos4, KJV1900OT.lbsrvi, NASB95.logos4, and NASB95OT.lbsrvi files, entering the command Update Resources, and restarting Logos 4 may resolve the problem.
Hi Nigel ~ Please try the solution provided in my post to Jeremy, and if those steps do not help, let me know.
I meant to put this in the Mac Beta section, but I'm taking it that the solution is the same.
I'm starting a new thread in the Mac Beta forum. I deleted the books you told me to, ran update resources, got updates, but the indexer still stops at four hours. Been doing this for a few hours.
I'm not sure the cause would be the same in the Mac version. We'll review your logs in the other thread. Thanks.

Logos 4.2a Beta 3 (v4.21.4.8512) is crashing without any activity.
Here are the Logs. By the way, this is a completely fresh install as well.

Any suggestions?
John, this should be fixed in next beta, according to Bradley, its to do with imported Sentence Diagrams from v3
in order to do some work I had to copy my sentence diagram database, then delete the original, hope to restore it at next beta.. but time will tell
Thanks! that worked!
