"The 8-volume Catholic Theology and Dogma Collection provides the basic tenets of Catholic theology, dogma, and practice. With titles by Ludwig Ott, Henry Denzinger, and Sylvester Joseph Hunter, these volumes have helped define dogma during times of dissension, providing necessary teaching to articulate Catholic theology. From Trent to the First Vatican Council, the decisions and decrees outlines in these documents are still useful for faith and practice in the church today. This collection is essential for scholars, laypersons, and both Catholics and Protestants seeking to understand the history and theology of the Roman Catholic Church."

Logos pre-pubs miss their first ship date more often than not (and often their second ship date). You should be used to it by now.

The ship date has been adjusted to Feb 1. That means if they don't slip anything else that was scheduled for tomorrow, I'm going to have a bonanza download! I'm really excited about the big Zondervan Bible Reference Bundle 2. But I'm not holding my breath. It seems that a few items have been slipping back farther and farther. Look how much is queued up for Feb 28 now. I bet some of those are going to get pushed into March.
I overlooked this collection and am unfamiliar with these titles. The items in tables of contents are of interest and I enjoyed the text in the sample page images.
Are these (old) works still considered authoritative sources by Catholics? Do they have an imprimatur? I don't have a good catholic bibliography to check if these books are still in use by Catholics, are they? These books are not what Thayer's is to lexicons, are they?
Thanks in advance,
Scott

Some are source documents which are still valid; two are still standard references used in seminaries. The systematic theology set I don't have in paper - but it has a good reputation. I believe they all have an imprimatur although it seems somewhat redundant for official documents.

Dominick, your post in the other thread is excellent and so helpful because it explains the relevance and usefulness of the resources. Thanks for posting that.

So did I, I was disappointed by his perspective in justification, and regeneration. Theissen moved from the historical doctrine of union with Christ, with regeneration, and justification being the benefits of union. He did actually speak of union, but placed it with adoption only.. However, even though I am disappointed because of that, I am very glad I purchased it. It is a very simple easy to understand systematic theology.
The others books still have not been shipped, I hope they will not be pushed off again..
Edit: ship date for catholic collection moved to tomorrow...

I noticed that this collection went from 8 volumes to 7 volumes.
What happened to Ludwig Ott's Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma? And is it available elsewhere? I don't see it in any of the Catholic or Verbum packages.
Strange. You're right, they took it out completely. Maybe a rights issue.
