Copy some of the text and paste intro Word: it will tell you it's in XYZ-Font even though the font is not installed on your machine.

miter (ˈmaɪtǝ) n, vb the usual US spelling of mitre

miterwort (ˈmaɪtǝˌwɜːt) n the US spelling of mitrewort

mither1 (ˈmɪðǝr) n a Scot word for mother

Collins English dictionary. 2006 (8th ed., Complete & unabridged ed.). Glasgow: HarperCollins.

Pasting into Word 2010 shows font Times New Roman.

Hm. I was expecting to see something like in this thread where Word shows TransRomanAH as a non-Unicode font in Smith's Bible Dictionary. I just checked to see and found a) the resource still has the issues b) even under Beta 7 I still get it copied over to Word and displayed correctly (= as empty squares, just like in Logos 4, since I lack TransRomanAH) .

@David: what Default Font do you use for Logos? Maybe this font can't display the characters - then try to switch to Default or Times New Roman.

Select Tools > Program Settings. What do you have set for your Default Font?

You can also try turning off all of your visual filters to see if that is causing a conflict.

Thanks,

OK, that was it--I had played around with the default font in the past and left it on something other than Times New Roman. So that's somethignt o keep in mind when changing the default font--make sure all the odd characters can be rendered!

Thanks for everyone's help!
