Video not working

We use Proclaim for our midweek youth services. Our youth building (an old church building) has no internet, so when I build the show each week, I do all the slides/videos/etc on Local Computer.

This strategy had been working fine until the last few weeks. Lately, I would try to load videos, but about half the time after loading the video, the screen would be a dark grey (both "On Air" and in preview mode), or it would skip ahead to the next slide (but the slide would be all white in preview mode).

Last night we used 3 lyric videos for our music, all three were working perfectly before we started. I left the show "On Air", with the hopes that would keep the videos from failing. It didn't work, and we had to scrap our music and cut our service short.

While I'm sure having the laptop connected to the internet would solve this issue, that is not a possibility in the near future. Is this issue solvable or is it just impossible to run Proclaim offline?

Just to clarify, you create the presentations on one computer and present on a different computer at your youth building correct?

This usually happens when videos either need to be transcoded to play within Proclaim or a video was added locally on one machine and you are trying to view it on another. If you are adding a video locally, then it will not transcode, and therefore will not play if the file extension is not playable by your computer (for example, adding a .wmv file locally on a Mac); also, if you are adding a video locally, it will not play on another computer since it has not been synced to other machines.

Is this issue solvable or is it just impossible to run Proclaim offline?

Proclaim should play videos fine w/o internet, and I can confirm this on my machine since a lot of testing has been done in this area lately.

The videos being uploaded are either .wmv or .mp4 on an HP laptop running Windows 8, and are loaded and presented on the same laptop. Previously, I would load them (locally) while at the office before I packed up the laptop to go setup at our youth building. Lately, I've tried waiting to load the videos until I setup the laptop without internet, thinking that would solve the issue. But according to the last few weeks, that hasn't helped.

The only thing that has consistently solved this issue is internet connectivity. We never have this problem during our main service on Sundays. And about a month ago, our youth had a game night where several of our games were video based and many of the videos weren't loading. I turned my phone into a hotspot and connected my laptop via wifi, and the videos (after being reloaded locally) worked.

Interesting, the internet should not make a difference if you are not uploading the videos to your group. What is the presentation that is being affected by this? I tried logging as you but the account we have for you does not have any groups or presentations. I would love to take a look and see if I can reproduce the issue and gather more info.

anyone else have an idea why I can't get my videos to load properly? I tried doing it again today, and even with internet connectivity, I was still having issues.

I just checked out your presentation on my computer and the one video that was not a local file played correctly. We are currently investigating video playback on Windows, so if you could try the workaround I provided here that would be great. After trying this, please reply if it helped or not; Also, if this does fix the issue, please provide your full system specs and detailed info on your video card.
