Interactive Media: Before and After Biblical Sites
What is it?
Compare modern archaeological sites with reconstructions of what they looked like in ancient times.
How does it work?
Simply move the slider back and forth across an image and view the differences between biblical and modern times. This interactive includes two images overlaid on top of one another with a slider to “windowshade” the top image to reveal the one below. The bottom image is a modern archaeological site or ruin and the top image is an artist’s reconstruction.
With this new resources, you can explore Jericho, Masada, The Erastus inscription (Corinth), The Theater at Ephesus, The Gymnasium at Sardis, and a variety of views of Jerusalem.
How do I get it?

I would be interested to know how aggressively Faithlife will be adding new images to this feature. I think this is a really good idea. It would also be cool if it was linked to the new atlas feature, so that one could click on the site in the atlas and bring up the before and after image.

One primary way we prioritize expanding features is looking at how users are responding: if lots of people like Before and After media, then it's likely we'll do more.
I hope we'll be able to do much more integration around media and geography in the future, linking maps to Logos photos to web photos to Interactive Media to .... you get the idea. Most likely Factbook will become the hub of that: so the page on Masada will show maps, photos, and interactives, and give you an easy link to Media Search for even more.
We spent a lot of effort for Logos 6 connecting data to make it convenient for users, and we're continuing to do even more.

Please add more, these are great for expository preaching to take people to the locations of the events.

I agree. I really like the Before and After media.

I concur! Logos/Faithlife, please continue adding more Before & After slides. We would use these a LOT more if there were more than 6 slides and if they were all linked through the Factbook. Please don't underestimate the value of such visual resources within Logos. They enrich my personal study and are very engaging for the adults in the classes I teach.

Part of the issue with response and take up may well be the relative few there are - as more arrive a "critical mass" becomes a factor - more people get to see them, use them, appreciate them and ask for more.
As it is I haven't had reason to use any of the few that exists - it isn't that I don't like what there are.
What about Petra, Garden of Gethsemane, a typical Mikvah, Golgotha (both sites), Pools of Siloam and Bethesda, entrances to Jerusalem, Mars Hill, etc.

We're definitely interested in doing more, though I don't have a specific schedule for when they'll be available.
