4.0a Beta 2 Release Notes

4.0a Beta 2 was released today.

Bug Fixes:

• Fixed crash on startup due to External application links in shortcuts.
• Fixed a crash when running a syntax search.
• Fixed issue with read aloud reference not matching the verse being read.
• Fixed crasher when adding items to a handout without a reference being set.
• Biblical People "Referred to as..." references are now displayed in canonical order.
• Passage Guide topic resources are now in priority order.

New Features:

• Changed the name of Bible Explorer to Explorer due to trademark conflict.
• Highlighting now includes highlighter styles for foreground text color, to match the background colors.
• Added additional highlighting styles to match what is provided in 3.0, in addition to a couple new ones requested by customers in the forums.
• Datasheet now aligns Previous/Next Context like Aligned view.
• Datasheet Previous/Next Context switch places when searching against a Hebrew resource.
• Show a visual cue when read aloud starts.

Known Issues:

• Merging indexes will corrupt your library index and stop field-based searches from working correctly.

Downloaded and installed Beta 2 without an issue. Up and running.

Updated in my second account install without a hitch (except that even here I get the "error" that it cannot confirm that the prerequisites are installed, but I've seen that for a long time in updates in non-beta 4.0 - I just click Okay and everything proceeds to install without a problem)

Really sorry to hear that Thomas the Black Guinea Pig (TBGP) is still having major problems after all the ground breaking work he did for me.

FWIW I prefer the way Beta 2 is displaying the Word for Word, not having each verse in a block. I would love to see the words not expanded in an easier to see font, though.

Ok...B2 installed over primary installation...cross your fingers!

Observation: The cited by tool is cool for figuring out which early papryi contains what passages...

Really sorry to hear that Thomas the Black Guinea Pig (TBGP) is still having major problems after all the ground breaking work he did for me.

Now that Sr7 is running fine, I'm not having any problems.  . 

I'll pick up the beta later, but with the inlaws in for Thanksgiving There won't be much extra computer time.

Move to Canada and you can keep on Logosing. We did Thanksgiving in Oct. because we were so thankful!

Will it automatically uprade the B1 version? Or do I have to manually do it like before?

Mine did. As soon as I opened it today - I was using SR7 in my other profile most of the day - it started the download right off.
