Bob Pritchett explained the future engine download here.

and

Official: Minimum Crossgrade and free engine download are coming!

Phil indicated (sorry no link) that the paid crossgrade would be perhaps a week. No hard data on the free engine.

I recommend you run Nyan the Cat on a loop until the crossgrade comes out Big Smile

Who knows, it may prove therapeutic?

Kelvin, believe me, I feel your pain!

For an in depth discussion on this very topic go to the thread, Free L5 Engine And CrossGrade.  It is fairly technical in places, and does go off message on occasion, however I have found it very helpful...

Our current plan is to release the free Logos 5 core engine in Q1 2013.

Phil, does that mean it is currently impossible for a new user to start buying resources in Logos without first purchasing a base package?

Good find, I didn't think L4 was still available for download.

I must say, I didn't mind when I thought I would be waiting a few weeks, but I'm pretty bummed that I won't be able to use Logos 5 at all until partway through my next quarter of seminary. I purchased L4 knowing full well that the Mac version had some issues, with the assurance that speed and stability were steadily increasing and that future versions of the software would always be available at no cost.

Now that a faster, more stable version is available, it doesn't feel great to be stuck using the (by comparison) crusty old snail that I maxed out my budget to purchase just a few months ago.

No; all resources for sale on logos.com work well in the latest version of Logos 4, which can be downloaded here: http://www.logos.com/downloads
