Getting started in Logos 6

Is there actually a simply tool to learn how to use Logos 6? I purchased the software about 10 months ago, then purchased the upgrade to 6. I checked out a few videos online and they don't seem to give me the perspective I need. I have 3 Bible software programs. Logos is the least used but the most expensive, by far. When I have time to look at it, it wants to download and index more material which eliminates my learning time. Seriously, where is the best way to get started so that I understand the concepts behind how it operates? I'm certainly not going to pay for training material.

I think that it would be wise to invest the time that learning Logos takes. The rewards are significant. Regular use will not eradicate the updating but it will reduce the overall effect.

Even on Windows the programme can be left running so much of this should happen in the background.

May I suggest that you start by setting up a simple reading plan and use that to kick start a daily session with Logos. After prayer and after reading (which most times can be done while downloading and indexing are taking place) you should have a few minutes to explore other features.

Little and often is the key.

Most of us have lived through your frustration of trying to learn Logos. It is a complex program with a long learning curve and truly 'simple' learning tools are only going to skim the surface. However, it is well worth your time to learn the program.

To get 'your money's worth' out of your Logos investment you will probably have to invest a little extra and purchase a comprehensive training program. The 'official' training products for Logos are from Morris Proctor. They are great but a little 'pricey'. I purchased one training program from third party vendors Udemy and another from LearnLogos. They helped me greatly.

Logos is a digital library where words in resources are indexed for fast searching. One option is changing Program Setting for Automatic Download to No so you can choose when to download and index: e.g. when you will be away from computer for several hours, start download and indexing.

I used quite a few resources on Logos and elsewhere. I liked a Udemy course on Logos. It helped me get up to speed rather quickly as I knew nothing about Logos. It was heavily discounted and I think now they have a deal for 15.00.
The Proctor course built in to Logos was also good.

Search a bit and you will find it.
