Problem's with Mobile Ed videos

Has anyone else had trouble with the Mobile Ed Videos?

I'm currently working through CM101 Basic Elements of Preaching: An Introduction to Homiletics and have had no problems with Dr. Carr's vidoes but any videos showing how to use logos or access online content by Brian Durbin will play the audio but not the video.

When I've contacted Logos they just tell me to reinstall my video drivers and update windows media player. To me, if there is a common thread of videos that have problems, I think it would be more logical that it is not a video card issue but an issue with the videos made.

Any thoughts?

    Hello Jason,

Would you mind giving a video title for one that is behaving badly? Also, are you on a Mac or PC?

    Thanks!

I was just able to play the videos on my personal machine. (logosres:cm101carrvideos;art=art008 and logosres:cm101carrvideos;art=art013)

I had both audio and video for the videos (though I didn't watch them all the way through).

I'm running in Windows but another employee was able to play the videos on his Macintosh.

There were some issues with videos but to my knowledge those have been resolved. You could try forcing the videos to download again just in case you happened to get the old versions cached.

    1. Click on overview to see thumbnails of all videos
    2. Click on the panel menu in the top left.
    3. Choose "Delete downloaded media" toward the bottom of the menu.
    4. Give it a few seconds to finish and then try playing the video again.

If that doesn't work please post logs and we'll see if we can't get this working for you again.

I also need to know what version of Windows/MacOS and Logos you're using.

Here are some of the videos that are causing trouble

"Finding Illustrations in the Sermon Starter Guide and Topic Guide"

"Creating a Personal Book of Illustrations"

    "Finding Sermons in Logos"

    I'm running a PC Windows 7

I'm not so keen on re-downloading the videos again because it will be about the 4th time that I've tried that and I'm on a slow internet connection.

How can I create logs to solve this problem?

Jason, thank you for the additional information. I can hear the audio clearly when playing the videos on my Win 7 PC (matching what Mr. Gano was saying above). I have also played the source video's, and the audio is present. I think it is safe to say the videos are not lacking any audio, and so at this point we can exclude the resource as having an issue.

To create log files, see this support article: https://www.logos.com/support/logos6/windows/report-problem

    Post the log files here.

Thanks for your help in sorting this out!

Jannie, I think you misunderstood the problem. I have audio for the videos, but the video is just a blank screen.

Those logs don't appear to have any attempt to play videos in them. I also note they appear to be from 6.1. We're constantly making improvements and fixes to Logos. I'd recommend you update to the latest version of the software (6.3 SR1 as of right now) and try again. If you're on the latest version please try the log one more time and ensure that the date/time is correct. (Mainly I'm interested Logos.log)
