Re: Ownership -vs- Access Clarification (A win-win for all)
Brethren:
Thank you for your interest to my proposals. I don’t know if you are affiliated with Faith Life Corporation and in position to bring about changes or just users seeking clarification of my proposals.
Regardless, I put forth two suggestions to get full access and usage of the Logos Digital Bible Software into the hands of many more people sooner, rather than later. At the same time, show business consideration toward Faith Life Corporation to pay its employees, researchers, and maintain future development. Let me make it clear, that I am not an executive, an investor, or an employee of Faith Life Corporation.
What I have proposed is different from what currently exist. There are two things:
1. I suggested renting access. Making monthly payment to use Logos Digital Bible Software. The monthly fee will give the individual full and complete access to the “Collector’s Edition.” The agreement must be for a year. If the user pays the rental fee (determined by Faith Life) in advance for a year, he or she will be given a 10% discount of the based rental fee. At the end of the year, the user will not be the owner of any books. Rent to use only! The rental agreement (one (1) or more years can be renewed). At the end of the rental agreement, in this plan, the user WILL NOT OWN anything! Full access and usage with no ownership of anything.
In sum, this plan:
a) Gives the user full and immediate access to all levels and books.
b) The user must sign a contractual agreement to rent for a year.
c) A 10% discount off agreement if paid in advance for a year.
d) User will NOT OWN ANY BOOKS at the end of the year or agreement.
2. The second suggestion is to give total and full access to the “Collector's Edition Level” on a rent to own basis. How it works? The user signs a contractual agreement to buy the top-level package. At the signing he or she will be given full access of usage to the Logos Bible Software. The user will pay a monthly fee or rent until the contractual agreement is paid in full. After the fulfillment of paying for the “Collector's Edition Level”, the user will own it. FAILURE TO PAY the monthly (fee/rent) or complete the contractual agreement the user WILL OWN NOTHING and will lose what books he or she owned before the agreement.
In sum, this plan:
a) Commits (contractually) the user to purchase the top level (Collector's Edition Level) presently existing.
b) The user gets FULL and IMMEDIATE access to the top level Bible software upon the signing of the contractual agreement to purchase the present top level (Collector’s Edition).
c) After signing of contractual agreement for purchase (taking over a year’s time to complete), if the user chooses to complete the purchase/agreement within a year, he or she will be given a 15% discount, if paid in full.
d) Full and complete ownership of the Collector's Edition Level when paid up by monthly rent or accelerated according to the contractual agreement.
e) It can and should be passed on to the user’s beneficiary without fee or penalty.
3. The two plans are for serious users.
IMHO, this is a win-win for Faith Life and its two and a half (2.5) million plus users. The more this software is used the greater the exposure for Faith Life and its product. It’s better to get a little from a lot (people), than to get a lot from a little (people group). Politicians understand and utilize this concept. I don’t know how much of Logos users owned the Collector Edition, but with this plan, I believe many more will come on board. I pray action will be taken very soon, by permitting full usage of all levels by renting or rent-to-own, to ensure that the Logos Bible Software becomes more accessible and affordable for everyone.
In addition, Faith Life Corporation can and will continue to make money from the boot camps, shortcuts, easy to understand mining of information, and new books. With full access to all levels, the addition would be more reasonable to secure. I don’t have the last word on getting this software out to the multitude, but this is an additional way. The users get full and immediate access to the top Bible software. At the same time, Faith Life gets commitment, profits, greater exposure, continuous growth and development.
When the executives of Faith Life and the legal department fine-tune the points of the proposals, they will speak as David did to an additional thousands, if not millions, of new users “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good” (Ps. 34:8 NKJV).
“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.” ― C. JoyBell C.
