Product Resolution

I'm upgrading my screen to a higher definition, and I'm doing this primarily to get the best possible definition of Logos resources. At what point does this become pointless, where I can get a screen with a higher definition, but the definition of Logos resources aren't going to get any better. HD? 2K? 4K? Thanks!

HD will be satisfactory and most 21"-24" monitors have this as default resolution. If you go higher (2K up) you can lose definition of foreign characters, especially Hebrew, because the letter size is getting smaller. Images in resources don't necessarily benefit as many are captured at a fixed low resolution (not scalable). But the "best possible defintion" depends on the quality of the monitor e.g. wide viewing angle (near 180 deg), colour reproduction, brightness/contrast.

Another factor to consider is your own vision. Unless your display is sufficiently large, increasing resolution will eventually reach a point at which you'll not be able to see all the detail the higher resolution brings you.

More pixels is almost always better, but there are two ways you can use the pixels:
- Use the pixels to get more screen real estate and fit more on your screen at once. Unless you get a bigger monitor, everything will get smaller. DPI or pixel density is an important consideration here. If the size of your pixels is getting smaller, so will everything else.
- Use the pixels to make things clearer. The best scenario is when four pixels are used for every one pixel. Modern OSes support DPI scaling. A 4K screen at 3840x2160 would effectively get you the screen real estate of a 1920x1080 monitor. A 5K monitor at 5120x2880 would effectively get you the screen real estate of a 2560x1440 monitor. The extra pixels would be used to make everything sharper.
