The Great Books of the Western World pre-pub price.
I received the following in an email yesterday:
The Great Books of the Western World gives you instant access to the major ideas, stories, and discoveries that shaped Western culture. The 60 volumes contain 517 works written by 130 authors: Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Aquinas, Calvin, Pascal, Kant, Kierkegaard, Melville, Shakespeare, Dickens, Marx, Freud, and so many others. Pre-order now to get $50 off the collection’s normal Pre-Pub price.
Currently the pre-pub price is $99.99 (https://www.logos.com/product/55052/great-books-of-the-western-world) and on 10/22 it's going up to $199.99. The math doesn't work. What is the "Normal" Pre-Pub price?
Is the paragraph above saying we should get $50 off the $99.99 price (I hope so, but how?), or should the paragraph say "Pre-order now to get $100 off the collection’s normal Pre-Pub price."?

That is a good question, but it does not look like it. I ordered for $99. I agree that that is unclear. But I suspect that the "normal" discounted prepub price is $150. They are giving us $50 off that. And then it goes up to $199 on 10/22. Regardless, order it now if you're going to order
Even at $99 this looks like a great collection.Jacob Hantla

Hi Tim,
I'm not sure what happened there. That should have said $100 off the normal pre-pub price of $199.99. Let me look into it a bit further and confirm that.
Sorry for the confusion.

While the email I received did not mention how much off, just the special price, the BLOG mentions $50 off for the three days ....

Was it supposed to read "50% off the prepub price"?

That sounds a reasonable assumption.Paul Strickert said:Was it supposed to read "50% off the prepub price"?

Thanks for catching this.
Paul is correct that it should have said 50% off the regular pre-pub price.
