I learned something new listening to Tremper Longman III Book Study Exodus, Segment 30

“Remember when Pharaoh took his staff and threw it down, and then the Egyptian magicians responded…or Moses holding up his rod while the Israelites are defeating the Amalekites but are losing to the Amalekites when the rod is down.”

    That'd be a typo of the tongue.  Pharaoh should have been Moses there.
