clicker to advance slides is no longer advancing slides in Proclaim

This feature was working fine for a couple of weeks, then all of sudden yesterday morning, the clicker would not work to advance slides. I used my app, but then had several glitches in advancing the slides. Does anybody know how to get the clicker working again?
Thanks,
Derek

What make and model is your clicker?

Not sure, I will have to look when I get back to the office, probably tomorrow morning at the earliest. Thanks.

Derek, we recently shipped a change that disabled the Up/Down arrow keys from navigating through slides. It is likely that the remote you are using is inputting Up/Down instead of Left/Right (I don't think there's a way to change this on the remote). Because of the bug that was fixed by removing Up/Down we're unlikely to revert that back, as it would cause renewed frustrations.
For the time being, are you able to use the Proclaim Remote app to navigate through your slides?

Is there a clicker that will work Proclaim? I have used the app several times, but last Sunday morning it glitched and wouldn't advance. It didn't look good at all. Getting a little frustrated with this hiccup. Do you have any suggestions?

In the future, we're planning on implementing a local wifi control for the remote app, which should potentially solve those concerns. Because we haven't tested any in house, I don't have a good recommendation for you as far as a handheld remote is concerned. However, several users have used pedals with their presentation with success:

Any remote with a right and left click seems like it would do the trick; a remote with four arrows will ensure that you are navigating using the Left/Right arrows.

I am checking in here because I am having this same issue. I would really prefer not to have to find a new slides advancer. Is there any possibility a future update of Proclaim will allow the up/down button feature to work again?

As of right now, we're not going to revert this change, sorry. It was causing some users to have functionality issues. If you don't prefer the Proclaim remote, there may be other app options that can manually advance slides with Left/Right arrows, but I haven't looked too deeply into this.

Okay, this is unfortunate. I purchased Proclaim knowing that we had the capability to advance slides without the app, now we have to figure out another option. I realize this may have helped some churches, but now others have been affected as a result of this change. Too bad you cannot include this option in the settings tab for users. I appreciate the feedback and will try to investigate other options. Thankful for your ministry!

What clicker model do you have?

Jumping in here - I normally use the iPad to control my slides, but when I need someone else to control slides, or when wi-fi is acting up, I use a Logitech R800. The R400 doesn't have enough range for us - but the R800 works well. I can use it for PowerPoint presentations as well. It's small, has good battery life, seems bulletproof. Highly recommended. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Professional-Presenter-Green-Pointer/dp/B002GHBUTU Not too expensive $55 or so, requires a USB port on the computer. Not sure if it works with a Mac (should), has a 100' range.
