This is a chapter written by David Lipscomb in "Salvation From Sin", edited by J. W. Shepherd (Nashville: Gospel Advocate Co., 1913).  I tried to find the entire book to put together, but only found this chapter. 

Lipscomb was a leader in the acapella churches of Christ part of the Stone-Campbell movement. Tennessee preacher, educator and editor of the Gospel Advocate periodical for 46 years.
