Japanese support?

Does Proclaim support Japanese? I did download and create a 30 day trial account but when I imported a recent message powerpoint all text was stripped out. We need to show English and Japanese fonts in every presentation and in every song.

Also, after scanning the forums I get the feeling that only built-in fonts are supported. Is that correct? For example do you have only one or two unicode fonts and that is the limit of what I can use? That would be pretty limiting for every language in the world that isn't supported in your core fonts. Most especially for languages that require CJK (double-byte) fonts.

I was surprised that even Powerpoint import doesn't seem to work - maybe I am doing something wrong?

Currently, only built-in fonts are supported, which does severely limit which languages can be used. I very recently suggested adding two multilingual fonts, and the developers said that it will be available in the future.

Importing Powerpoint isn't foolproof, and isn't intended to be. Thank you for the reply. I thought I had the forum set to email me when there was a reply but I didn't get an email. Just my excuse for taking so long to respond back!

OK thanks for the information. So there may be two fonts in the future that work with Japanese? To be honest that doesn't sound very exciting. It will certainly be a deal-breaker for me and probably anyone else who needs non-English fonts.

I am currently using ProPresenter and it supports Japanese fonts and imports my powerpoints with various Japanese and English fonts too. Was hoping that I could try out Proclaim but no pluggable font support = no go for me.

Uploadable custom fonts is planned for a future version, but we don't know when. Perhaps you could check back then. Proclaim will probably never have all the features of ProPresenter - but Proclaim is incredibly easy to learn, and even easier to collaborate. Those are its great strengths, but getting there has necessitated some compromises on power features.
