The Sapienza University of Rome has just released a free MOOC entitled "At the Origins of the Mediterranean Civilization: Archaeology of the City from the Levant to the West - 3rd-1st millennium BC".

I've gone through the first two weeks and find it rather wonderful. Anyone interested in Mediterranean history, archeology, etc. would do well to check it out. The second week has very interesting discussions of the archeological remains of the city of Jericho in Palestine, so people interested in Biblical history should also find this course of value.

The professor's English is somewhat ... Italian. Some may be put off by it, but I find it charming. If you speak Italian, there's also the (more fluent) Italian version of the same course.
