Season of Creation lectionary
“The season of Creation is celebrated during the four Sundays in September prior to St Francis of Assisi Day (4 October). The sequence of readings for this season creates a liturgical pattern similar to that in the season of Advent. The readings are designed to provide a three-year cycle corresponding broadly to the years of Matthew, Mark and Luke in the Revised Common Lectionary.
The sequence of readings in each series follows a broad pattern of creation, alienation, passion and new creation. The readings also give special attention to the story of Earth, which complements the story of God and the story of humanity in the Scriptures.” (Norm Habel and Synod of Victoria and Tasmania Uniting Church in Australia, The Season of Creation Lectionary, 2004).
I found a preaching commentary on this alternative, four-Sundays-long church season in my library and earlier this summer I built a lectionary for the current year B - this lectionary gives the readings assigned by the authors as well as links to the book and to a website with liturgy resources.
In order to allow a bit of preparation for pastors and other Logos users who intend to celebrate "Season of Creation" this year, I share the PB source: 2086.Season of Creation Lectionary.docx
Just compile as type:lectionary. More resources for this have been compiled by MJ Smith in a Reading List.
Of course, you can modify the PB source to link to those or even more materials, or suggest updates here (I contemplated building a kind of 'missal' of the available liturgy stuff, but it didn't make it to the top of my list - neither did the inclusion of all available liturgical datatypes offered by Logos).
