Desktop App Per Device Selective Resource Installation
Does anyone know if this issue was addressed and a solution provided for in the L8 desktop app?
I could not find anything that anything has changed from the L7 global resource hiding but wanted to check if anyone else knows.
This would be very helpful for those of us with large libraries and smaller disk windows devices.

It's been a long-standing request to restore this feature to Logos. I've not seen any indication that it has changed. FaithLife seems reluctant to do anything about it.

There's no improvement in this area in the first version of Logos 8.0, but see https://community.logos.com/forums/p/173785/1005374.aspx#1005374 for discussion of future plans.

Oh that's quite good news, Bradley. While at the moment I'm fine on HD space, this would help a lot of people in different scenarios.
I'd also suggest (again) that you make an option of downloading new resources separate from program updates. For various reasons, there are times when people want to just get at the new books they bought without having to go through the update process.

Thank you for that information Bradley.
Phil Gons (Faithlife) said:If the latter, we're working on a feature that we hope to include in a future release that may help with this. It would allow you to send some resources to the cloud and not have them installed on your local machine. They'd be in a separate category in your library and in a separate section in search, without taking up space on your drive, bandwidth to download updates, or CPU cycles to index. (Over time we'd hope to integrate cloud resources into other parts of the app like various guide sections. Eventually, we may explore streaming cloud resources, if there's enough interest in it and it's technically feasible. But initially you'd need to download a resource to view search results or open it in the web app.) This could be a possible solution to your problem, if it falls more into the second category above.
That is very hopeful. My preference would be cloud storage with selective download over streaming as streaming would require always on internet connection. Many of us still have the need to work offline.

Any chance this is planned for the L8.1 update Bradley? [:D]

No, this will not be in 8.1.

Thank you Bradley. Even though it's not going to be in 8.1 it's helpful to know it's in the works. If FL needs beta testers for this feature I would be happy to be a guinea pig. [:)]
