Greetings and Salutations. . .
I pray someone reading this may have a suggested solution. Maybe there is a posting on this, but I did not see it.
My system: Windows XP SP3. Have had Logos software for over 10 years!
Several days ago my .Net framework became corrupted when the automatic update was trying to download an update. Not being able to download, I quickly stopped it and forgot about it. About a day later my .Network update tried again to no avail. Well, this time I thought I can remove all the framework and re-install them. I've done this before, so I am thinking it's no big deal to do this again. Therefore, I removed the framework 1.0, 2.0,3.0 and 3.5, including any SP's involved. After re-installation I tried to use my L4 and got an error message that it did not find the fusion.dll and that re-installation may fix this problem. After clicking OK, another error message: "C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded." I next tried to re-install L4 but it would not re-install. It simply did not respond. Frozen.
Am I missing something in knowing what L4 can do? I could not reach my notes, my studies, my bookmarks or anything relating to L4's resources I use very frequently. Neither could I have downloaded them from L4's servers. I was without my resources!!
What does a bible student and speaker who depends upon his resources for study and teaching does in a case like this?
Is there a way to reach my study notes, my book marks, my documents from the Logos servers? Does Logos have a reader or a viewer that when the program does not work, one can view and print the data one has produced? Or how about having the ability to convert my notes to a PDF file? Or how about a repair utility that installs .Net framework or repairs any problems with L4? I have other software apps that do this. There must be some way I can reach my data without Logos directly involved.
I must say this: I ended up downloading free resources for my studies, what else could I do? I found some worthy resources that helped me out in my hour of need!!!
One last thought: why is it that L4 must depend on .Net framework, when other bible programs do not? It's an honest question. I am very dissapointed. Logos 'must' address issues like this for paying customers who depend upon a product that costs a premium buck. Please note, I really enjoy using L4 and I love my L4, but what can I do? Unless I'm missing some ability that L4 has in relation to my concerns and questions, I have no answers at this point.
How can I get L4 to work again? If any one has a solution please email me at alsosa@msn.com or on the postings. Also, please, on the subject line type: L4 solution. I get much junk mail and I delete over 95% of my emails!
I pray to the all Wise God that someone may have a solution.
Dissappointed. . .
