[Suggestion] Let us change the verse mapping for each Bible book

Hello
I would love if we can change the Milestones for each Bible book in the PBB. For example, if the KJV match better for Matthew, then let us use the Milestones for the KJV. But if the verse mapping for Mark match the NA27 better, then let us use for Mark the Milestones for NA27.
My previous suggestion was to be able to change the Milestones for each chapter. I see this is a problem. But as the Bible books are a book in itself, the chapter problem shouldn't be there.
Second: This affects also to add a Bible book. For example in the PBB has the Bible like the KJV but also the book of Jasher.
Thanks for considering my suggestion.
Fabian

Adding this to the official feedback site to gather interest then adding the link here would help promote the idea https://feedback.faithlife.com/

Hello
Just seen this feature is possible in the Laridian Bible Software. It would be great to have this feature in Logos too.
Thanks

Where did you find the feature documented for Laridian Bible Software? I am curious how they implemented it. I will admit to strongly opposing this idea as it is it already difficult to get users to understand when they need to specify the verse map in a Bible reference. To make them have to select the correct verse map by book of the Bible within a Bible version is unworkable.

Suggest creating a Personal Book Bible (PBB) for each Bible book (using desired Bible mapping). Next use Series to connect PBB's for Bible navigation across books, like Göttingen& Septuagint (24 vols.) does.

Thanks for the suggestion, but thats not exactly what I want. Especially as every Milestone has the versification included. It would be so easy to change for the different books the versification scheme. The possible versification options to import a PBB correct would be dramatically expand.

If you download the Laridian Book Builder you can see if you open the folder, two folders, a Help and a Samples folder. The help file is really good.
An excerpts from the Bible sample:

">You have a list with the book names and after the versification (verse mapping). In the help file you'll see the possible options. The versification itself is hard coded. What I miss is a full list of the hard coded mapping.
So I know you have some time if you install the Book Builder to read the Help Files etc. Without paying.

Thank you ... I'll check how it handles Jeremiah ...
[edit]
Ah, I see what they essential do is allow the user to define an additional (new) verse map not a "mixed" map ... need to consider the ramifications of that approach.

Observation is current implementation has maximum of One Bible Verse Map per resource (suspect suggestion would be non-trivial software changes to incorporate Bible Verse Map lookup for every Bible book: Personal Book Tool, Indexing, Bible Search, Basic Search, Bible Word Study, Exegetical Guide, Passage Guide, Notes, Verse pop-ups, Cross References, ...). Current work around for verse map suggestion is using custom series to connect resources with different Bible Verse Mapping for navigation: e.g. Lexham Hebrew Bible (LHB) + Society of Biblical Literature Greek New Testament (SBLGNT).
New Feedback => https://feedback.faithlife.com/ shows Logos Desktop App has 762 suggestions (none for changing Bible verse map limitation per resource). FYI: Logos Desktop App suggestion Paper Builder currently has 82 for most votes.
Thread => New Faithlife Feedback Boards includes:

As we make prioritization decisions, it’s critical that we understand what will benefit the most users.
Caveat: new feedback website needs a separate login so please vote => Add the feedback website to the Faithlife SSO system that has 15 votes (anticipate SSO integration would substantially increase Faithlife feedback voting).

Another suggestion idea is customized Bible Verse Map(s) that has desired mapping for every Bible Book. Suspect adding more Bible Verse Map(s) would be easier/quicker than software changes, especially for Bible(s) that Faithlife can sell to many users.

If I understand correctly, adding the datatype for the new Bible type is a bit of a pain but considering I remember back in the day when there were only 80+ verse maps ... it clearly is not a problem to add a verse map.

In my opinion if we import a new Bible, with the different verse mappings/versifications, then we create a new one. Not officially listed but in my opinion the same as Logos does. I don't think they started by every Bible from the ground. If they see a new Bible book has the same verse mapping as one exist in the Logos library they take for this the same. At least I would to it in this way.

See Bible Datatypes (logos.com) for how verse maps map to Bible versions.

I would be startled if it had the same functions as a FL defined map.
