Warning: Notes in Beta 1 still not ready for prime time

I'd be interested in seeing your logs when this happens. The only way I can replicate this behavior is to open a notes document with unsynchronized changes on the server and then, when it picks up those changes, the panel re-draws. I'll continue playing with it.
Attached. It did it twice in a two minute time. I recorded a Quicktime movie of it, but it's 400 MB. So if you want it, I can figure out a way to get it to you.

We could not (and still cannot) replicate exactly what was original described—that simply opening a Note document caused a modification and resulted in those changes being synchronized back to Windows. We've gone over the code more than a few times and some modification of the Notes document would've had to occur for that to happen (add a note, remove a note, etc).
I have been using Beta 1 & 2 for quite a number of hours now and have not seen that problem emerge again. (I haven't downloaded beta 3 as I need to get to a high speed connection) So my confidence at least in this respect to notes is high.

I am not sure I want to be involved in beta testing on both platforms. the 4.1 Beta has my attention right now.
Jack, you are going to get your post count docked if you don't get your priorities right! [:P]

Didn't you know that you get double post-counts for putting up with Windows? [H]

In order for a date to be "manually applied to the file", you'd have to edit the contents of the file. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend that any user take to hand-editing the content databases like this because the ramifications of such editing is not likely to be well-understood by users and there may be unintended consequences.
Yet another request: Please urgently add a backup and restore feature for user-created content. The SYNC is NOT a backup!!!
I really don't get why Logos would create tools to create, edit and print user-content, but not provide a backup/restore feature.

Looking at your logs, it looks like you've been bitten by a longish standing issue with sync that has affected some users that is causing you to re-sync everything constantly. It's a result of a particular sync item being in a disabled state. We'll follow up after a more detailed analysis of your logs to figure out exactly which item is at issue.
Regardless, the behavior you're seeing is a result of the note being refreshed as a result of sync while you're editing it, which is known. The reason you see it so often is that you're syncing far more often than necessary. Typically, that only happens if you're simultaneously editing the same notes document in two copies of the software.

Thanks for the help. The constant refreshing makes it nearly impossible to edit notes in Logos/Mac for me right now. I give you my word that I do not have two copies of the program open at once. I'm very careful not to ever do this for these kinds of reasons. If there's anything I can do on my end to help solve the problem let me know either here, or by emailing me at the address in my signature below.

I totally believe you . If you *did* have two copies open, I'd be able to tell from the sync logs. As it is, your logs indicate that you're trying to sync items dating back to 2009, which means that you're experiencing a sync issue that appears to affect some users of early alphas.
We'll dig into it further and provide a path to resolution.

Would it fix the problem to simply delete Logos 4 and all associated files on my MacBook Pro and let them re-download? Since I assume I'd lose nothing, I wouldn't mind doing this. Or would you prefer to see if you could fix the problem as is?

What's really odd is that I don't have any notes dating back to 2009. I may have created a couple of dummy notes in the Windows version in 2009, but when I started trying to create notes across three platforms (a project only begun in the last month or so), I deleted all the old notes to start fresh.
