Afternote: I was able to fix the stalled downloading by renaming the Download folder (as per instructions on the forum) and this worked great. UBS is now completely downloaded. Still no solution yet on the indexing hang though. Back to 0% again. ;-)

Note to Steven Veach : There are Usb C Hubs that expand the number of Usb C slots.  Saw one for $40 that expanded 7 for one.

On my PC I had the 128 Gig C drive cloned and a 1 T drive installed.  (moved a 'lot' of stuff off the hard drive to the SSD)

I have two multi T drives for backup but still now have two 1 T Drives and both half full.

Next project (after I do some more checking the new drive) is to Delete Logos (now on the D: hard drive) and reinstall it on the SSD C: drive.

(last time I did that I rebuilt all of my PBB resources to ensure that I had all of the source files as I was setting up a new PC but had access to the hard drive of the old machine. Will use scan this time as I regularly back up my PBB files, and everything else, to one of the external multi T drives.)

[I plan to let the indexing run over night if it needs that long: 9000 resources.]

Yeah, luckily my MacBook was old enough it does not have the USB C slots. It has 2 USB As and one card reader. Having just 3 USB C slots will be a problem down the road when/if I ever update to a new MacBook Air in the future. I think it's a little ridiculous they did this. No reason the end user should have to buy an additional hub to make a $1000 + laptop function correctly.

I've had less than desirable results over the years with my large capacity external drives. My latest was an 8TB drive that died within one year. Just stopped working one day. That's 2 in about 6 years. This is and portability (and not needing external power source) are the reasons I'm slowly switching my backup system from large capacity externals to 500 gb flash thumb drives. It will end up about the same price and I can do it over time, slowly phasing out the larger drives (as they die off).

I'm wondering if the indexing is snagged or just taking a long time because of the number of PBs I have. I have nowhere near 9000! ;-) All in I have about 2000 resources (regular and PB). Indexing did not take a long time but then again I was importing PB over several weeks (rather than all in one day). This could very well be the difference. We'll see. There's a good chance I will start from scratch to build a more focused PB collection anyway. Will have to wait and see.

Restarting from scratch is always a good idea. Assuming that we learned from the mistaske we made in the past. [Spelling error intentional! [:D]]

Fixed the indexing issue. There was something the Logos indexer did not like about my personal books. I had to delete all the PBs in the list and then rebuilt the index. This time it sailed throughout without any issue. I've added back a dozen or so PBs from the docx backups and they import fine and are available immediately in search results.
