App Error: cannot open Verbum app on my new Pixel 6 cell in phone

When opening app I get error saying cannot copy fikes to SD card. I don't have an SD card. I don't want to transfer files to an SD card. The latter is just the message I get when I try opening the Verbum app. May anyone help?
