Not knowing either alphabet what do I look for to see if the update worked?
Thanks in advance
Sam,
It's not a file update....it's just movies
Unzip them, and replace the current movie of the same name in the same folder....
For those who missed the forum post announcing the availability of these (as I did), I just found it:
http://community.logos.com/forums/p/20116/151446.aspx
Is the update an issue of content or quality?
This is just the alphabet videos so far, so I think it's just that they fixed the problems with incorrect letters that were in the initial release. They are working on improving the editing quality in the rest of the videos and those will be available at some time in the future.
Thanks Rosie. I know you didn't produce the videos and you will have to excuse the sarcasm, but isn't it a little concerning that a highly-touted, $159 product that is supposed to teach people how to study a language didn't even get the alphabet correct, not to mention that nobody caught it before it was released? Anything else I need to know about the videos? They did get the correct definition of nouns and verbs didn't they?
According to this post http://community.logos.com/forums/t/19285.aspx, those who have purchased the product will receive an email letting them know about updates and once all updates are complete, Logos will be resending the DVD product to those customers who purchased it. So I understand from this that if you miss these downloadable updates, sometime in August, a new version of the product will be shipped. If this information is not correct, I would appreciate correction, but that seems to be what Bob P wrote in his post.

Yup. I agree. I'm just the messenger. As I understand it, they did catch it just before it was released but decided to go ahead and release it anyway (since they'd already pressed hundreds of DVDs) and do a fix as a downloadable file as soon as possible. IHMO that was a bad decision and cost them a lot of credibility. The cost of some dumped DVDs would have been miniscule in comparison. But maybe they weighed that against the cost of delaying shipment even longer(pushing the revenue from them into another quarter, and irritating users who've been waiting for this for months). Who knows. I don't work for Logos. Anyway, this has all already been hashed out before on past threads. Search the forums for them. And see in particular Bob Pritchett's apology posts about the whole mess, here and here.
