Moravian Daily Texts / Watchwords 2022
As in prior years, I'm sharing the global daily lectionary "Die Losungen" (a.k.a. Daily Texts, Moravian Texts, Daily Watchwords) for the year 2022. This small lectionary consists of a daily OT verse - randomly drawn from a pool of texts in German language - and an accompanying NT verse that may help to illustrate. In addition to that are weekly texts - those go with the Sunday lectionary in Germany, are often used in church services and basically stay the same over the years - monthly texts and a yearly text for 2022. The Daily Texts are printed uninterrupted in its 292nd year, now in some 60 languages, and used globally by millions of people - now you can utilize them in Logos as well.
While there are printed editions of Daily Texts in English language, only the original German language edition offers the data as download which allows efficient creation of a PB source file. It will have "official" German language texts (yellow arrows, edited mostly from Luther's translation, 2017 edition) plus dynamic text from a bible you can choose (for my screenshot I took the KJV, indicated in green).
File here: 1373.Die Losungen 2022.docx
The Personal Book needs to be compiled in the PB-Tool as type:lectionary and language:German to work - see the red markup in the screenshot left. The resulting file is shown to the right. You can then select any bible of your liking, such as an English language bible like in the screenshot (green box) or another language of your liking such as Dutch, French or Spanish, or even the Greek or Hebrew texts. The bible text references will of course show a pop-up in your preferred bible, too (green arrows). Those of you who already use a Losungen-PB just need to add the above file in the tool and recompile.
Dates can be selected via the date selector (indicated in purple) or the ToC - a calendar based date selector will be available if you choose to put the PB as a lectionary onto a Logos Homepage tile. The tile allows for automated loading of today's text with a study layout.
Note: The text selection copyright is owned by the Evangelische Brüder-Unität - Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine, the text source and further information is available at http://www.losungen.de
Have joy in the Lord!
