This is very different offering from me. Usually I post stuff from the Stone-Campbell movement, or eastern religious texts. Tonight I was reading one of the evangelical columns in Patheos by Roger E. Olson which discussed the origin of the "Ideal Time Theory." (which is a variation of creationism in which things are created by God to look old.) I'd heard of the theory but never known its source. I found this text and became fascinated by it. (Not convinced, just fascinated. LOL)

It came in a format that was easily transferable into a PBB and so I throw it up here for your perusal, enjoyment and interest.

This one was interesting. Of course, I didn't know the name, but I grew up on the rationale ... unavoidable where in Arizona, geology is pretty obvious. Cutting up rocks was a winter activity for the men in the church. The idea continues to be pursued with a quarterly mailer from one of our community members.

But the cover here is even more interesting. "Paternoster Row". I wondered how far back that went; I didn't find out but an interesting web site:

I like the quote "the lighter artillery of literature". I guess 'digital' is decentralizing those old concentrations of hopes and dreams.

And then the darker side ... "Luther’s translation of the Bible was publicly burnt in this neighbourhood, and soon after warrants were issued against those who had burnt it."
