Everyone - please respond to ATTN: Mark re:sermon assistant tools OR tell me why the Sermon Builder doesn't meet your needs - Logos Forums as appropriate while we have the attention of Mark. The Catholic and progressive needs have significant overlap so both should be considered.

Wow.... This post is disturbing.

Verbum is offering an inexpensive package for RICA (rite of Christian initiation for adults) - a concept that needs to be applied to confirmation and lay minister training where denominationally relevant. For that I reason I have made this suggestion SUGGESTION: Worship Matters - lay/ordained minister books from ELCA perspective - Logos Forums
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Nevertheless, other names I might posts requests for later if I feel like procrastinating again:
Derek Flood
John Pavlovitz
Brian Zahnd
Deborah Jian Lee
And these three are more in the "spiritual writing" category but are popular among Progressive Christians:
Cynthia Bourgeault
Joyce Rupp
John O'Donohue
I got around to procrastinating some more and posted a bunch of requests for books by John Pavlovitz.
I created a new post about it rather than continuing on this thread.

Rosie has been adding book request - please vote. I just added Robert McAfee Brown SUGGESTION: Remember when Christian ministers and theologians were heroes? - Logos Forums
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I got around to procrastinating even more and posted a bunch of requests for books by Brian Zahnd and the one by Derek Flood that Logos was missing.
I created a new posts about them, rather than continuing on this thread.

You know that this sort of remark does not belong on the forums. You realize, I hope, that social progressives can be very conservative theologically.

What a true statement! The Bible is enough! The problem is today is most people only want to believe in the parts they decide, which is a form of idolatry, they become their own God. It's a big problem in the world today, where people want to put a mix of their own beliefs into the equation, and only use the Bible part they want, so they feel they are following it. Then there are the others who distort parts to fit their own agenda or their own god like beliefs. Your right, conservative is gone, from not at all, or full blown.

I have been described by my pastor as so conservative as to be positively Medieval which in today's environment is sometimes mistaken for liberal.Dale Earp said:Your right, conservative is gone, from not at all, or full blown.
However, these forums are for the discussion of Logos software, its resources, requested changes etc. Presenting personal theology unrelated to the software is against the guidelines. In the context of this thread, your comments could even be taken as insulting which is also against the guidelines.

Oh Rosie -- please rethink this. Don't leave over a couple of people making remarks that were less than loving. You are valuable here to many!
This is coming from a conservative evangelical with progressive views on some issues. I appreciate you and the contributions you've made here over the years.
Please stay!

Thanks for this reminder to everyone, MJ. I am conservative theologically but hold some socially progressive views.

Barnabas, your comments are not appropriate for this forum. Please apologize and refrain from further such comments. We do not all agree theologically, but we all need to be respectful of each other. Your post above fails to do so.
Thanks

Well, I hope not! You're more conservative than me (and more knowledgable as well). I don't put much store in labels ... at Qumran, the unrighteous were not at Qumran.

First time reading this thread.
Everything ever written in Religion or Theology available in Logos.
Logos seems to be willing to work with any publisher or author with whom they can come to terms with. If enough users indicate that they want a feature (basis of the OP) or resource they will try and get get/implement it.
Speak to the publisher/author about making their resource available in Logos and see if that works. The more the merrier.
Mission: To serve God as He desires.

You know, some of us who work in academia have to read primary sources of others we don't necessarily agree with in order to engage them. I've never understood the juvenile idea, "No! I can't even look at that because someone told me it is bad!" which unfortunately pops up here from time to time.

Oh, don't let the socially maladjusted drive you off. There are plenty of people here who love and appreciate you.

I chose the title for this thread specifically so such people could bypass the thread. My Dad's family could have reunions with the families of his 40+ first cousins and discuss religion productively - and as Catholic, Finnish Apostolic Lutheran (Pietist), and Church of Christ we certainly had differences of opinion. I truly don't understand why a few people persistently create discord in the forums.
