Dear Folk,

We don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if it were as that would match past experience; I wouldn't be surprised if it weren't as new management make take a different tack for releases.

It's reasonable to plan on a new release. It's foolish to wait for one as Logos 10 rocks.
The more invested you are in using Logos is still the main thing.

I hope not. That will end my updating with Logos. I'm subscribed to death with apps for my devices.

I expect Logos 11 will come this year. After all, Logos needs a big wad of money! [8-|]

Interesting! I am on 32.1.31 going back to 11.0.0 would be a big step backwards for me.
Wouldn't that count as a re-release?
How, one muses, do the concept of Logos 11 and the new subscription model hold as mutually compatible?

I asked initially about Logos 11 release date because I have a limited budget. I have lots of resources on my wish list. If one comes on a good sale, should I buy it? If Logos 11 is coming out this Fall, I should wait so I can upgrade. If it is not, I should buy the on sale resources. Logos tells us way ahead about new pre-pubs. They keep us up to date on how the interest in the pre-pubs is going. Seems like more updates on Logos upgrades coming would help us plan our budgeting and purchasing.
Thanks,
Mike

My current theory is that Logos will go with a naming convention similar to what Apple does for each update of its operating system. So each major update of their base software and features would have a new name. Apple started with cats and now use places in California. i.e. MacOS Ventura, Sonoma, etc.
So if you were going to name the next rollout of Logos, what would you choose?
Some mountains could be Logos Moriah, Logos Gerizim, Logos Sinai…
Or going back to Logos‘s early days when one of their versions was call Series X, the convention could be resurrected, but this time use the Hebrew Alphabet.
Logos Series Alef, Logos Series Bet, Logos Series Gemei…
Last, Logos could use the names of MVPs…
Logos MJ, Logos Criddle, Logos Hooton, Logos Fidel…

I'm sure Logos 11 will come with the final decisions this year because Logos will make the most out of money with the subscription plan.
Maybe for some there are too much information in one sentence above:
1. Yes Logos 11 will come
2. Because they want finished the details on the subscription until fall. As they claimed.
3. New features will come only as subscription. As thy told us so.
4. They try to get most of your money. My conclusion.
Was this clear enough?

No inside info here, but I doubt that they will use "Logos 11" as their marketing name, unless they want to call the packages Logos 11. But for the software, that naming scheme has been abandoned.
Regardless, the fall release will be something unlike we have seen before.Macbook Air (2024), Apple M2, 16gb Ram, Mac Sequoia, 1TB storage

They had a Logos 10 sale last month and a bigger Logos 10 sale this month. There should be another big Logos 10 sale before the release of Logos 11. It seems like that's been the pattern in the past. [^o)] ??........

I always thought that letting us know in advance would be the smart way to do it. But they never did before.Michael A. Looks like Dave may have had a posting problem there!
I'm considering buying a Logos Feature Set or Package, is it recommended to do so before a major release? or after the major release? If I buy before, do I end up on the old version, and have to upgrade to get the newest features?

Buy before, particularly if you do not want to subscribe. You will not have the opportunity to buy the current Feature packages after the subscription release in the Fall.

The current version that you can buy is Logos 10. You will have to subscribe to get the newest features (or Logos 11) and then you have to wait 2 years to buy the offline features. You can buy and own books as previously.
Note that the new subscription is about paying for new features, particularly those that need to be online (mainly AI features). Ownership is secondary to this.

Dave, I saw you mention this in another thread, but I don't know the specifics. Are you saying it's been confirmed that those that don't subscribe will be able to purchase the offline features that will be released over the next 2 years, in 2026? Or is it the subscriber's Legacy Fallback License that will give them the option to buy the offline feature set after 24 months continuous subscription? I thought the Fallback License granted the offline features without further cost after 24 months.
I'm hoping it's the former.
Thanks.

Thanks Dave! That is what I thought was going on based on what I have been reading in the forums.

That's an interesting perspective. I personally have very little interest in cloud-based AI features. Ownership may be "secondary" to these AI features, but I wonder in whose perspective. Certainly not in mine.

Technically, yes, but it also lessens the investment put into it and the value gotten out of it.
It's like you'd be getting rushed to make the most of it while you have access, and then there wouldn't be as much to it as if you had paid up for a perpetual license. Then, if you run out of time, you'd have to pay for it again and again and again...

I'm surprised no one's mentioned that the Advent of the subscription model means that there technically will be no "Logos 11".

Yeah, me too. These AI features are stuff I didn't ask for and don't need. I'm not backing these guys forcing the issue.

Sí, la actualización a Logos 11 será en octubre de 2024, en dos meses más, y será solamente con pago por suscripción.
