Editing Multiple Slides

I just noticed recently (maybe the past two weeks or so) that if I select multiple slides to edit and begin editing, the changes don't take place on the other slides. For example, if I select all the Bible passages and change the size of the text, it only affects the current slide, not all the other Bible passages even though they are selected. So, I end up having to edit every single slide separately which can take a bit of time depending on how many slides in a presentation. Any help on this would be appreciated.
