Help: Having to Set Display to 16:10 to Show 16:9 Slides Properly

We have a 16:9 (1920x1080) projector, but when we are making our slide show with Proclaim, we have to set our projector display to 16:10 (1920x1200). If we don't we lose the top and bottom as well as the right and left sides of the image.

During editing, while being set to 16:10, we see transparent strips at the top and bottom. If we move anything into those areas, it will not show up on the projection screen.

Does anyone know what is going on with this? It's very strange and can be aggravating if someone accidentally sets the display to it's proper 16:9 because we will lose some of our text and the people can't follow along.

It sounds like you might have a zoom set on your projector, or a misconfiguration on your projector. (It could be trying to show a different aspect ratio)

If 16:9 is the desired output, I would set that in Proclaim and then fiddle with your projector settings until the content displays correctly.. Proclaim's "Identify Displays" screen with show a bright green border on the perimeter that will help with verifying the whole content is being shown.

That option is also in the display settings.

You can also go to your computer's display settings and see what it "thinks" the resolution is... You'd want to see 1920x1080 or 1280x720 as those are 16:9. If you see something different, then your projector is misconfigured.
