Any reason to purchase features set now if planning to subscribe to Logos Pro for two years?

But I was also thinking about cloud-necessary features. I think I would continue to have access to them if purchasing an L10 full feature upgrade but not so with the 2-year fallback option.
Unless, of course, I'm seeing this wrongly! And that could well be.I was unaware of your Connect-No Library position, so you are correct that it would be mostly an insurance thing (as it is for me).
If I recall reading the posts correctly, I also think that you are correct that if a feature in the L10-FFS (if you actually purchased the L10-FFS) is cloud based, that you do retain ownership/access to that feature even w/o an active subscription.
I'm at work so I do not really have time to try and find the post that mentioned this in order to verify, sorry.

Thanks, Roy. No need to look. I'm almost positive that I read somewhere the continued access to online features if FFU is purchased. For $165, it's hard to turn it down.

You will lose Auto Translation because it uses AI Credits.

Interesting, Dave. So one will who "owns" L10-FFS lose what is touted as a feature of L10-FFS?
That makes a harder case to justify purchasing the FFS unless one just wants to forget subscribing and work with L10. Or am I missing something?Pastor, Cornerstone Baptist Church, Clinton, SC

Sorry Dave but that is not correct.
Per Mark Barnes in this post he explicitly stated...
Mark Barnes (Logos) said:Joey Midgett said:But if the translate is cloud based or AI based it will not fall under the fallback license and will require subscription. Now which subscription I guess is another question. Seems if you owned it in FFS then even the lesser subscriptions would suffice, but that is not official.
Although fallback licenses won't include auto-translation, we won't remove that feature from people who purchased it with L10. Usage limits will differ between subscription and L10-ownership, though.
as I stated in my reply that the user had to have purchased the L10-Full Feature Set in order to retain the auto-translate feature. If they did they will not have to subscribe in order to use it. (the Bold facing Marks quote is mine.)

Plus, Auto-Translate was sold with several packages; not just FFS. It couldn't simply disappear, absent a subscription.

Bill;
As one who has purchased many thousands of dollar's worth of books, my advice to someone like myself would be to buy the full feature set. Basically so what if I lose a feature or two, I’m personally buying it for the “what if“ security.
in your case with no library purchases, there in not must to protect, and subscription will keep giving you everything you want. Of course I don’t know your financial situation or your use of Logos. Maybe you envision yourself not wanting to subscribe long term.
You can almost boil down the “Buy the L10 full feature set” to people’s aversion to the subscription model and the ”fear” of possibly loosing what they had paid for If something happens to Logos.

My Connect subscription was a carryover from Logos Now, so it didn't subscribe to a library (which you probably know). I've got a pretty large library purchased over the past fifteen years, almost 9K resources, so Logos reports, and can afford the subscription as long as I am able to remain as pastor of our church (69 years old in a 22-year pastorate and plan to continue as long as health permits). I just have an aversion to spending more than I need to but don't mind spending what I need to, if that makes sense.
So I could probably get the L10-FFS and happily function with it for the rest of my life, but I am intrigued about the possibility of things that a sensible use of AI may bring.Until Logos tells us what is precisely going to be in Pro and Max, everything is a bit of an educated guess, it seems to me.
Perhaps the safest thing to do is purchase the FFS and then subscribe to Pro when Logos is ready to migrate my Connect subscription to the new one.
I'm interested in any insight that anyone has.

I only have what you have, which is partial answers to our questions.
But, I will repeat something I said earlier. Pro does not include everything, Logos Max does. But what does that really mean? We will have to wait and see. Right now Mark said L10 full features plus pro equals Logos Max for the time being.
The only thing I’m kinda sure about is that the Logos full feature set has everything I’ve been using the last two years, and I believe none of it will be taken away according to my understanding of Mark’s posts, not even online features.if I paid for it I won’t lose it.
So as I see it with Logos Connect you have had access to everything, if you upgrade to Pro you would lose ”Something” which is whatever Max is offering for 50% more per month.
It looks like Beta 36 or maybe 37 will be Logos 11, the there new features for me will be AI search, insights, and the Factbook enhancements. I’m hoping for surprise must have feature, but regardless, I’ll be going on subscription To Logos Pro plus my full feature set rather that spending more on Max.

Hello, everyone. New here. Currently own the L10 starter and have been buying lots and lots of books instead.
Can someone clarify the subscription price savings that I'll get if I buy the full feature first vs just getting the subscription when it arrives in the fall?
Roy posted the following:
Roy said:For L10-FFS owners the Logos-Max is $130/year ($100/year for Pro). For non-L10-FFS owners it is (if I remember correctly) around $350/per year ($250/year for Pro).
Which is a substantial savings (170%)! , and in that case I agree, then it's worth getting the L10 now. However, when you go to the page to buy L10 it simply says 'at least 30% more'
Assuming Pro will cost $10, a 30% extra means just $3 monthly. Even 50% more would mean $5. In which case, then it's not worth to buy the features now. no? Am I missing something here? For what its worth, my dynamic pricing for FFS is $267.
Thanks for the help!

This is misleading Marketing. For just 30% more you can own the world[:D]
Just go by the actual figures:. Max $260 and Pro $200 for 2 years, with your $267 for FFS
Max $527 for 2 years as FFS Owner vs $700 (33% more)
Pro $467 for 2 years as FFS Owner vs $500 (7% more)If you get Silver Features you can choose Pro for less than $467.
And remember that your subscription will always be less than a non-Logos 10 owner or new user.

That's what I want to confirm - that without FFS the prices are indeed $700 and $500 respectively, and not something way lower. I know the subscription will always be less but how much less was the issue. Because if the '30%' number was just the difference in monthly subscription, then it's not worth it. But it looks like the difference in monthly subscription is very substantial.
Thanks for clearing that up for me!

I am thinking similarly, Bobby. My best personal “fallback” is to purchase L10-FFS for $165 and have it regardless. Along with L10-FFS, I don’t see my being hampered at all by Pro.
Thanks for your insight.

Dave what if I own the starter and have subscribed to Pro, will I then be able to keep the features that was part of Logos 10 after the 2 years.

Yes. And a new (non-owner) user would have the same entitlement! You should consider the L10 Silver Feature set to get the healthy discount on Pro and keep ahead of a new user on payments after 2-3 years (depending what you pay for Silver).

Dave, can you please explain more in detail as I don‘t understand if I already joined pro, why should I still get silver if pro has already the features included in silver

Because by getting the silver/gold, your monthly subscription will be significantly lower (supposedly), and that after 2 years you will still come out ahead.
In my example above for example :
Getting silver ($230) + 2 Years of Pro ($200) = $430.
Getting 2 years of Pro without buying silver first = $500.0 -
Thank you Dave, I get the point of saving $70, besides the saving is there any other benefit in getting silver, and also towards what Logos 10 package does Pro compare to.

After all this discussion--and thanks to all of you for your insight--L10-FFS is now purchased, and I'm leaning to subscribe to Pro when migration from Connect has been finalized. I think it will me everything that I'll need and more.

You continue to pay a discounted subscription fee after the first two years! And you keep Silver cloud features that you would lose without being an owner.

We won't know until Logos produce a Feature and Dataset list closer to Fall. We only know that it does not have all L10 Full Features
