This suggestion wasn't originally mine (the idea is from Phil Gons), but while doing my weekly Feedback conference, I thought it would be interesting to draw attention to it here for discussion and to have more votes.

Having the option to configure Layouts to update automatically would be great, as long as the layouts set to update automatically keep a copy of the original Layout in a separate place so we can always go back to it (the original named and saved), and the recent changes are saved so I can open the latest version when I had to close it. This could be done like a kind of history within the saved Layout.
An example:
I have a saved Layout that I use to prepare sermons. When I open the saved Layout, I start a new sermon or keep modifying it, closing and opening new tabs.
If I need to close the Layout to do a Bible study, for example, it would be useful to return to where I left off in the sermon Layout.
But when I finish the sermon and need to start preparing another one at the beginning of the week, it would be necessary to start with the original Layout instead of the updated one.
This would be the best of both worlds and would add amazing flexibility!

There are several different forum discussions about updating layouts automatically that may be useful here:

If there are other posts on the same subject, I couldn't find them.
