Please let us make clippings out of them too!0

This is the one area where Kindle is unfortunately superior. Please enable us to highlight footnotes while reading in the mobile app!0

is there some way to use the Highlighter tool or Take a Note tool WITHIN a particularly juicy and helpful footnote? If there is no such option, then I would like to suggest that this would be a tremendously useful feature to add.2
-
A very much needed feature! (This used to be one or more very popular uservoice suggestions, e.g. https://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-6/suggestions/822227-provide-the-ability-to-mark-up-footnotes with 121 votes)
Have joy in the Lord!

I would like to further propose this. It is necessary to add notes to footnotes and be able to highlight them, even if they appear in a different document (as ancient document collections and apparatuses do). Please make this possible.0
-
The time when this always bugs me is when I report a typo in a footnote. I always like to highlight the typos I've reported with a special "typo" highlighting style so I can track which ones have been fixed, but I can't do this in footnotes, so I have to resort to highlighting the footnote reference number in the base resource. Not idea, because if it's a long footnote it might be hard to visually find the typo again to check if it's been fixed.1

Footnotes are vital - sometimes even more vital than the main text. They need to support as much functionality as possible!0
-
Yes. I often want to highlight part of a footnote. Many academic books have very extensive discussions in footnotes. My workaround is to copy the footnote and make a note in Logos with the text of the footnote and anchor it to the body of the resource. Very kludgy and time-wasting.0
-
I don't particularly use this feature but anything that would streamline the process is welcomed. I appreciate what you have done with Notes but sometimes they are everywhere and too many to which they can be grouped to better use.0
-
What is the status of this? I am using the mobile app a lot more and the lack of copy/paste in the footnotes is really frustrating.0
-
This is essential!0
-
I can't seem to highlight footnotes in the mac version 9.8.00008. Currently I am running Big Sur 11.6.1
-
Yes, this feature is very much needed.0

Yes.0

@Phil Gons (Faithlife) I again today find myself in desperate need of this functionality.0
-
Yes, please. And, please add this to clippings. Or as @Phil Gons (Faithlife) suggested to @SineNomine , a merged clippings/notes tool would also be fine. (The notes tool is so powerful, expanding it to have a category of "clippings" (along with "notes" and "highlights") notes would be welcome to me, so long as there were some dedicate features of clippings. Those tools seem to be in need of consolidation.0

I agree0

This is the main reason I cannot use Logos as a serious reading and research tool. It’s a pain to read on my iPad if I cannot highlight all the nuggets I find in the footnotes. This has put me off buying all the books for a project directly in Logos. Now I buy none.0
-
Yes please!!0
-
Allow me to make the additions in my system, but don't force everyone else to know about them0
-
Yes, I too would like to vote for highlighting to be a feature of footnotes.0
-
@Phil Gons (Faithlife) , I'm bumping this post. LLS:BECKLICONATHIRD is a great example, where I can't highlight footnotes. I can search them, thankfully, but can't highlight or even see them outside of clicking on each number.0
-
Absolutely!!! It is very frustrating to NOT have this ability. I have to highlight the word before the footnote number and attach a note saying, "See footnote." This calls my attention to noticing a footnote which I cannot highlight.0
-
yes, I have wanted to do that many times.0
-
In the reading view, it would be nice to be able to highlight text in the footnotes.1
-
Need this! highlights, Clipping, copy/paste too!0
-
Also, option to highlight or change color of the superscript number or letter.

Just my bump to agree!1
-
Yes, please add footnote highlighting.1
-
Yes, the inability to highlight footnotes gets under my skin pretty much every week. I end up highlighting the number in the text as a workaround but this does not translate well to Notes.1

This is an important and necessary addition to LOGOS.1
-
It's a much-needed improvement.

There has been no movement on this even though it is one of the highly upvoted items in the feedback. Is there a reason this is still in the "needs opinion" category?1
-
Yes, I also want this feature.1
-
I suppose since I cannot figure out how to do this, it still isn’t possible?

Correct. The underlying architecture can't support it at this time. When this is changed, I suspect we will see many related enhancements.

I received a notification that the status of this was recently changed, but I cannot find the new status of this request. Would someone kindly educate me as to where the status of this request can be seen? TIA

I would like to be able to highlight text and add notes to the footnotes. That would be wonderful.

Logos now has a page view where it shows footnotes at the bottom of the page.
I wanted to highlight a footnote and I can't. I guess that means I can't copy and paste either.
Bummer.
I wish I could.
thank you

@Larry Craig I have found that if I hover over the footnote number in the main text, clicking on the pop up will make it persist while I cut and paste the text into a note. This has the added advantage of making the text searchable in the Notes tool.

I see that works, but Logos exists to save us time. A lot of books have a lot of footnotes, and this needs to be speeded up.
but thank you
