Add Print Books That Are Not Yet In Logos Catalogue

I love the print library option. May I suggest a manual option for books that are not in the Logos catalogue, perhaps just an ISBN search to include title and author, as this would help me as a user to track all my books In one place.
Right now I will have to have a list of non Logos books in my print library and to periodically check if they have been added to Logos. In other words, whilst helpful it is actually creating more work for me to keep track of what's in and what's out. With a manual option, I would be assured that any time a title is added to Logos my print editions will be added to search without any further action on my part.
The advantage of this to Logos would be that you could actually target me with new publications that you know I have in my print library and the data you collect could further enhance your understanding of the kind of titles your users want to buy.

I don't think I will be using 'add print books' until this facility becomes available. It is a great idea but just needs an extra tweak.

Agreed, this would allow users to fully manage and track their entire library - a function that would truly set logos apart from Accordance or other software.

Great idea. LibraryThing.com has done this for years...scan the barcode or enter an isbn and it searches the internet for the book and usually finds the exact match.
  • Yes!  I was coming here specifically to suggest this.  I just tried scanning a few books, and none of them were available with no option of saving them as scanned.  I'm looking at my print library and debating whether its worth continuing to try.  If Logos could finally give me a full list of both print and Logos resources, that alone would be worth the effort --- especially if new resource updates eventually include the books I already scanned.  Otherwise, it seems like a waste of time to scan the whole library in an attempt to find those handful of books that might happen to also be on Logos.

I just suggested this very thing as a comment on a different suggestion.

To open the Print Library to anything a user enters is to invite unproductive mayhem. However, in the incomplete bibliography project, FL set up some structure for the books referred to in FL resources. Please allow the user to enter items in this master "bibliography" into their print library. They cannot be searched but knowing one can check a reference from one's print library would be very valuable - especially if its presence was marked by an icon as the locked resources are.
